Tanks & Tanks w/ AOE CC

First off, there is a lot of safe damage out there.

But mainly the point I am trying to make is all tanks should not be treated the same. The reason why I like tanks is they have identities and a lot are very different from one another. That is why the much needed nerfs should be targeted and not universal.

The problem is the tanks that combo AOE CC and/or engages. Not only can Rakan get tanky and have a good shield but also knocks you up and has an escape. That theme is consistent with all OP tanks. If Zac's team has a lead or the other team can't match his team's engage he just keeps jumping, Q'ing and ulting. Cho is not only massive but if you come to fight him you will be knocked up and silenced, therefore greatly multiplying is 'in effect' tankiness. The more you can do the less tank you should get, similar to the safer you are the lower your damage ceiling should be. Good engages basically carry, should be far less free; especially when the other team doesn't have it.

Played as Tanks that don't need nerf: TahmKench Trundle Volibear DrMundo Nasus Rammus Nunu Olaf

Tanks that need nerf bc they can do more which makes them even more tanky making everything they do more effective: Galio Chogath Shen Taric Thresh Taric Rakan Leona Braum Alistar Ornn Sejuani Skarner

Mundo, Nasus, Volibear, Rakan, Skarner, and Olaf are not tanks dude.

Technically you are definitely right, but in game.... they are best built and played as tanks. Therefore since that is what they actually do, that is what they are when measuring their effect in the game; to me. Of course everyone has their own opinions and thoughts on everything. Build isn’t what makes them a tank, playstyle is.

The champions I mentioned (aside from Rakan who is weird) build durability so they can get close enough to kill targets, not lock them down.

Being tanky and using it to be more durable for yourself (not a big deal) or your team is tanking; which makes you a tank. Tank Ekko is a tank.... I mean he isn't defined that way by Riot, but that is what he is. Similarly full AD-Lethality J4 is a massive burst assassin, that isn't how he is defined, but that is what he is in the game. Thinking in terms of set in stone defined classes will only limit your perspective.

If Ashe is building full tank she isn’t a tank. If Yasuo is building AP he isn’t a Mage.

Tanks are not only meat shields. They are peelers, lockdown experts, and engagers. Being tanky doesn’t make you a tank.

Mundo isn’t a tank, he’s a juggernaut meant to distrupt by annoying people with fire and not dying.

We all know there is no way troll builds can effective do anything, lol. I do not think in terms of labels, I have thoughts based on my interpretations of their respective tangible effects to things happening in the game.

I know Nasus and Olaf are not a tank by definition.

In game personally I don’t have the time to correct people. On the forums it’s best to have a better understanding of what something is to understand why it is that.

I think you are confusing juggernauts and tanks

A full tank Juggernaut in effect is a tank. When a team ask you "to build tanky," they are asking you to be a tank for the team; regardless of the class definitions.

No....no it is not. Just because you can play Amumu full ap doesn’t mean he is an apc. Just because you can build full tank and cc the opponents with Orianna doesn’t make her a tank.

Half the champions you named aren’t even tanks.
