Ap nunu mid is frikin op!
So I have been playing a ton of nunu lately, and I love him! I normally play him in the jungle as a tank, but I wanted to try him mid just to see how it would go. And it was awesome!!! At first I thought it was just a fluke, but then I carried and snowballed (lol) for 6 straight games! And against a large range of champions! Veigar, Leblanc, Zed, Jhin, ryze, and twisted fate. So I've decided he is great in the mid lane, and here is why. I know he only has 2 damaging spells, but that is all he needs!! He has great poke with his e, and it's on a super short cool down. His level one is not amazing cuz he gets poked a ton , but once you get level 2 and you get your chomp, You can out sustain any poke! Very very few mid laners have any sustain, and so when you keep poking at them, and heal back all the damage they do to you, there is not much they can do. Once they get low, the slow from your snowball, the great Ap ratio and base damage, and the low cooldown make securing a kill pretty easy! One of the best things about nunu mid, is that you can completely deny whoever you lane against any sort of early game, or mid game, and at that point their late game is pretty bad too!
Now for the build. I start by rushing tear of the godess because with decent mana, it's nearly impossible to push nunu out of lane. Then, if I'm against an Ap midlaner, And I'm taking decent damage, I get a spirit visage. Then I rush rod of ages, and then pick up a protobelt. Protobelt is actually pretty great on nunu cuz you can dash into their team and ult for massive aoe damage! I mean your ult does 3k damage late game! Then you can get an abyssal scepter for the 40% cooldown, some tankiness and penetration, and then round it off with archangels staff.
I know that there are a few sotuations where it's not a good choice, if the enemy midlaner has a lot of sustain, like vlad, don't play nunu. If the enemy team has a TON of HARD cc. Don't play him, (If only one or two champs have hard cc you are fine) but overall it is a surprisingly strong pick!!! I would recommend trying it out!
Tell me what you guys think!!
