CC and Mobility
I really do love this game. But it's got some issues, as does every other game.
Now, everyone has fought as or against a
, or a
. And everyone has cried about it, how the high mobility makes them impossible to catch, or to run away from. But in the select few champions that I can play well, there are a lot of things that I consider insane.
I played a game with
jungle the other day. And the double kill in that game felt unfair even to me. I started in the lower mid bush, waiting for their midlaner to extend and get ganked. But they never did. Bottom lane was frozen, nobody was pushing. I turned around and ulted. I went rolling in, and hit their carry. The support came to tank my autos, I simply q'd in the direction of the adc. They both got knocked up, and I killed the support. I proceeded to walk forward at the adc, e'ing a minion at her to slow her down. I landed a few hits, chilling smite, and then my w popped. She was dead in a 1v2 from out of nowhere.
I played a game as
recently. Their
was able to kill me without a single chance to escape.
goes in for a gank with q. Then he r's. I fall into
's e. then his r. With barely any health I w to escape, and just get pulled back in.
I main
as an adc. When they have squishy supports I will always back off and stop pushing as I hit six. I only last hit the minions and let them push up. Then I hold the lane stable just in front of the tower. I w over their champions, and r the adc under our tower. I proceed to e q onto their support, killing them. I let the damage and likely cc from my support, as well as the tower massacre the adc. If knockback counts as cc, this continues to prove my point.
is an inescapable terror. Especially with chilling smite. E, q onto them. stun them down, beat on them. chase them for a bit, smite them. E, chase them a bit more. stun them down, kill them.
Why do I describe these scenarios? Because unless you dodge the blitz pull, or the sion ulti, or maybe I should've warded so I could w out as I saw lee sin. Unless that kind of stuff happens, you're completely helpless. Champions like
would be so much better if he weren't a skillshot champion in this dash dominated meta. And a simple
e r combo could out you in four button pushes, with hardly any chance to escape.
Here's to those who can win more than 50% on champions without Unstoppable Force. The ones who can't use an Elastic Slingshot to their advantage. The ones without a rocket in their pocket. They are the real mvp's. Because this meta, created by riot who adds too many dashes to the game, blots out so many of the fun, complex, strategic, cerebral champions. Because they can't dodge a
hook.
EDIT: I'm mainly talking about how ridiculous cc heavy champions are. Thresh's death sentence is dodgeable, but if you don't dodge it his flay, and his box will keep you helpless till death. Therefore mobile champions will be inherently stronger, because they can dodge the hook way easier than most. Skillshots have nothing to do with this, though my point with Ezreal remains.
The meta does not have a place for those without a dash. Not because they can dodge an ez q, because though that hurts dodging it doesn't usually save your life. It's because someone who has basic mind game skills can utterly escape and even catch the enemies out. And there is no counterplay. None. You cannot counter a dash. So the ashe rework was bold, because even if she is stronger than she used to be, she will still not be played in ranked. Because she has no dash.
