Help a bronzie out, please

So I just played a game of ranked as Yasuo, and got absolutely dumpstered. Completely. And utterly. Destroyed. I was playing against an Ahri in mid, and it just felt like she was invincible. I would go in on a fight 1v1, lose half my health and she'd lose maybe a fifth. It was insanity. So I tried just playing to whittle down her tower. Push the wave hard, and then walk back to my own turret, you know? Let the minions slowly knock it down, and don't fight her at all. Well, I did that a few times, and then the wave came back to me, pushed in a bit towards my tower. Ahri engages, and... an Ashe ult slams into me. I get bursted and die. 0/3 at this point.

Their Irelia jg comes by, and she's on half hp. Flash q e, I'm stunned and bursted. As the game goes on, it's a constant "I didn't pick a fight but you did, and so now I'm dead because not even flash is enough to escape". Ahri got to the point where she could tower dive me with ease, and Irelia was close. I don't know where I went wrong, but I do have a few questions.

How do you win as Yasuo in an Ahri vs. Yasuo lane? What can you do when behind and still getting camped? Does that pushing strategy work? Is there an indicator to know if Ashe ulti is coming? How do I deal with Ahri being able to kill me as soon as we make eye contact? and finally Who's a more reliable midlaner who I can play in ranked that isn't annie?
