Ahri Mechanics

ˉ G··2 votes·1,608 views

During a game playing as Ahri, I came across a few ideas and was wondering if you guys thought that her mechanics would work well with these:

  • Building her with Spellvamp (item 3146 item 3152) would be worth the effort, considering how often you use her abilities. Of course this would be along with things like Morello's.
  • Building her AD (item 3087 item 3031) and either playing her mid or as a carry bot lane.

Tell me what you think, and thanks for reading. Ahri

Disclaimer: I am a Silver 5 Ahri Main (Lvl 5, yay :D), please don't hurt me for my opinion >.< Thank you

  1. WoTA/Gunblade: In most situations, it's probably not worth it: Your passive gives you all of the healing you'll need and you can always buy a cheap biscuit if you need the regen. However, if you're being poked down to oblivion by a Varus/Azir/Jayce and you want the extra CDR, by all means build WoTA. Gunblade...ehhh. You don't really need the active because of your ult + charm, and if you're autoing a lot in teamfights it would probably be better to get a Lich Bane.

  2. AD Ahri: I haven't done this much, but to be honest, I wouldn't do this. You have no ad scaling, and while you may be pretty safe thanks to your ult + stun, it just feels like it doesn't do enough.

tl:dr WoTA against poke-heavy comps, don't get gunblade ever. AD Ahri doesn't really do enough to be worth it.

I agree. I've only tried AD Ahri twice with real people. Once in normals (bot lane) just to toy with the idea and once in ARAM because my team was all AP. It's very meh on her at best. She really needs AP and Mpen so you lose a ton of damage with her going AD.

The only reason I'd do it in a game is if I picked Ahri and then noticed the rest of my team is building magic items (including the ADC). I'd do it less because it is good and more because someone has to keep the other team honest.

it definitely gives her more sustain in lane, but answer this, you're an ap mid laner whos main goal is to charm someone and then drop them, does more sustain help you do that?

when i play ahri i go item 3165 item 3259 item 3285 item 3089 item 3135 filler item usually being zhonyas.

i go this build for raw damage against other squishy champs so i can drop them, i just dont have any need for more spell vamp because i bank on dodging skill shots and things as ahri and going in on my terms, not necessarily trading with my opponent.

I agree, I generally go with that build style. Just some ideas that I wanted to share with you guys. Thanks for the response!

As for spell vamp it just isn't worth it. The passive healing she gets from her Q is more than enough. If you get spell vamp you no longer have room for the better, higher ap ratio items that she would benefit more from. As for AD it would probably work, but it is definitely not something I would ever recommend in ranked. Unless you don't mind getting reported.

Yeah, after hearing other people's responses, I can agree that spellvamp isn't worth the effort. Thank you for the response :D

Get ludens, d-cap, and voidstaff in some order on Ahri.

WotA might be a little better in general after the change goes through, but it's still not core on her. Her biggest issue with it is her Q is AoE and won't heal for much. I don't like gunblade on non-hybrid champs. AD doesn't work well on her because her AA range is lower than some ADCs and she's got no AD scalings. If you want to AA with her, LB is probably better and we'll see if Nashor's works on her after it gets reworked.

Take this from someone who's read a lot of guides and experimented with her in game.

I can agree with that. Thanks!

Don't try to capitalize on her spellvamp; just don't. It's not strong enough to be worth empowering. It honestly serves to limit her power budget. Same principle as with Doran's Blade's lifesteal. It's useless and only exists to take the "funding" out of the item's potential power.
