What's the point of hextech crafting anymore?

The last chests I opened in the last months(3 in total, 6 unopened) have been all bs.How and why am I getting a fkin champion shard that I own and some BE?I get that hextech crafting is 100% free /s, but goddamn what's the point of struggling to get an S on a champion to receive the chest, then struggle to get 3 chest's keys in a month just so I can get 700~ worth of BE, I mean what the ****?

You're right. It is garbage. Not sure what riot was thinking. No I am not going to buy keys for these stupid fuking chests that will drop champion shards.
