Sion's real problem

Hi, I've been playing a lot of sion lately (mostly top), and even though I like his laning phase a lot, that's pretty much all he has: a good laning phase. Why is he not good out of lane? The reason is quite simple. He has nothing to stick to his target.

Now, before you tell me : "but he has 2 slows, and his ult makes him go super fast!" Yeah well that's the thing. First, his 2 slows makes him stop to cast them, which give the opponent just the time to get enough of a lead so they get far enough that sion still can't catch (not to mention the "E" is pretty easy to miss without minions and you probably won't have time to charge his "Q" for a knock-up). As for his ult, it's quite obvious it's made to initiate, and not chase (not to mention missing is quite easy and puts you even farther from your target).

In short, Sion need sticking power. Maybe give him some steroid (move speed), or a better slow, maybe some way to apply CC more easily, but he NEEDS something to stick to his target, because right now, any kind of slow, no matter how puny it is, will kite him to oblivion and make him close to useless.

I don't really agree with your assessment. He doesn't really need sticking power with the way his kit works - your job isn't to chase down carries in teamfights, unless the situation blatantly presents itself. Your job is to peel, which Q is AMAZING at. You can tell which champs are going to dive your carries. Starting a Q field makes their dive useless.

You should only really charge carries if they are very out of position or you have a numbers advantage. Otherwise save your ult for peel or mop up duties, or if the ADC or mid gets a little too close to you in an attempt to get to your carries. Ult Q nullifies them for a very long time.

The only change I'd want to his kit is to let his Q still go off if he is interrupted, but only make it slow. They could even add an animation to it - he can drop his axe behind him or something and make a shockwave when his foot comes down. I don't think that would be too much to ask, and would really bring him up to par with Cho and Naut, who have much more reliable cc.

Sion is about team fights not chasing.

His Q needs to make him immune to CC so people actually have to walk out of it.

Or make it work like Galio ulti so that it goes off immediately if it's interrupted.

No most people are just playing him wrong. I jungle Sion a lot and I have to say his sticking power is one of the better ones for junglers. What you need is cdr and aim. His E combined with his Q is enough to stick to someone if you add in red buff it should be fairly difficult to escape. But it's like what was said already he is a peeler not an assassin. He has enough sticking power and CC to be a good ganker from the jungle and that is a time you want to chase which he does well early but later on in team fights you need to focus on peeling.

I do think though that his Q is too easily interrupted in team fights and it really does hurt his team fighting capability when his only hard CC (besides his ult) can be pretty much nullified for an entire team fight.

the only problem sion realy has is that ppl come to this forum instead of noticing how good he actualy is i get it that his passive feels liike crap but he ca win most of top matchups with ease, and transition into a tank with realy good dmg distruption and initiation (thats like realy much )

My biggest problem with Sion is that occasionally his R and Q break, making him almost worthless.

The biggest problem with Sion is that his stats are capped to prevent abuse cases, but it also limits him. His passive's AS boost isnt' actually a boost, it just changes it to 1.75, which can be a nerf if he has more than that. Same with his movement speed, which is soft capped around 387.

This is what I'd do to Sion: Remove the cap on his passive's MS, have it add 0.8 AS, lower the duration of the CC on his Q, make it so that Q scales inversely with AS (So the more AS you have, the less time it takes to charge), and I'd increase his base health by 300-400 at 18.
