As of this post, VELKOZ is the number one midlander! I feel like a proud VELKOZ main. I currently have over half a million mastery points on him and I've been playing him since the middle of season 4. Riot please don't nerf him.

Magnum Mack1 votesNah, I've done it before late game on some backline squishies, but most decent teams won't let you just sit there and get it off without at least trying to break it/kill ya.
Vel'koz isn't mobile at all and is supremely squishy. His dmg and utility are in line with those weaknesses as far as I can see.
Lazypeon1001 votesMy point was that thwy should simply walk out. All it has going for it is a 20% slow. If you are doing his ult at max range it is supwr easy to just walk out of, and I'm assuming that is the case since you are talking about aimig forbackline squishies.
I really don't know a situation where this is a reasonable expectation / mistake for the enemy to make. I have played toms of velkoz and know him very well. Your enemy pretty nuch has to be afk to just sit there and eat the ult.

Wolfram Oxford2 votesWhile there are counters nobody is #1. Vel'Koz is a good champion, he has a lot of cc, kiting potential, and AOE damage, but a lot of teams can manage him no matter how annoying his play style is.

Considering his primary meta at the moment in this patch is support and he's not mid that often rn. Actually I don't think I've seen a mid vel in awhile.. shame cause he used to be my main mid laner.
I honestly question how often champion.gg updates. You go there and they say one thing, then you go lolking and they say another. Who do I trust?
