Lower Level players and the Jungle (no smite)

My buddy started playing this game and I noticed that until level 10 you can't use smite. Why is this? He was using Warwick and he kept dieing repeatedly throughout the jungle. None of the jungle essential items were available to him, do to not having "smite"

You are essentially forcing new players to dual top. In my opinion this causes a bad habit because as you know, dual top is rare at higher levels. Let them get used to the jungle right off the bat.

Smite should be a level 1 summoner spell.

Just play bot games until level 10. Even in norms 9/10 Games that low in level don't even jungle, and it makes sense for smite to be higher in level since jungle has become IMO the most important and carryable role in the game with the new smite and jungle items. Just play bot games until level 10, or don't jungle.

honestly it's simply not worth jungling until you're higher level and you have masteries and runes anyways. this was true even in the old jungle. moving smite was helpful in that it discourages new players from trying and failing to do this.

You really don't need to learn how to jungle before level 10. Besides that, the new Jungle is definitely not nice at all to players who aren't already at least really familiar with the game as a whole, so it's going to be harsh to new players regardless.

smite should be level one in my opinion, there is no reason you cant learn to jungle on nunu or ww without masteries

There's no reason you should need to buy nunu/Warwick.

Literally, when I started out I didn't want to play either of those champions. I had a couple champions capable of jungling (jax, kayle, eventually Evelynn) as a lower level (pre 20) but since I was waiting until 20 to buy any runes I really wanted to avoid the jungle because you need the early game help on most junglers. It was incredibly annoying being forced in to jungle in 90% of the games where someone managed to call my role before me (e.g. I'd call adc immediately after someone else and then top/mid/support were all called before I could type anything new) or when I was last pick in Draft (started Draft at 15, although here I at least had enough masteries to survive).

I think making smite level 10 is a great idea. Now you can easily say you're not 10 yet, no smite no jungle, and your team can't hate on you for going duo top. The jungle was really hard in season 4 at low levels, and now it's even harder. Definitely approve of this change. Approve even more on the level reduction for flash, as that's a hugely key spell.

they did this because most players below lv 10 will die in the jungle even with smite

Time to test how well revive does as a smite substitute. That's not a reason to stop them picking smite. If I recall, one of the most infamous junglers from season 1 had dying to creeps as a planned part of her jungle path.

Actually, the game should enforce the meta until level 10 or so, or in a special beginner tutorial mode.

Better to do this than to expose newbies to abuse from smurfs and higher level teammates who do know how the meta works.
