I've once had a Lee Sin that I never really play because I just thought that I don't have the skill for it, or to make plays(At this point I already know how Lee Sin works and his ability). I jump into ranked, thinking to myself that I have the confident to play him as JG. 20 mins in the game I got a pretty good KDA 4/0/2 knowing how his ult work with some plays. That match ended at a 44 min mark with me ending up with a 14/2/6 KDA.

First time I played Taric (in season 3) was in Ranked and completely wrecked the game.
I once accidentally picked Malphite (who, at the time, I had never played) instead of Maokai. In ranked. I won lane (I was against a Gnar) and the game.
1St time I ever played Draven I almost had a penta I couldn't 1v1 Renekton with my hp being so low

Had practiced J4 a little in seeing if I could do a camp before going to top lane with him, so not sure if it really counts, but I hadn't played any games with him.
First game I'm last pick and notice the enemy team has no one with dashes and so I go J4 support, go 0/5/37 (died on the first few ults but still won the teamfight, later ults were just free wins).
Then a few games later I'm a late pick and stuck top, notice again that the other team has limited dashes and go J4 top. Get camped by their jungler (3 ganks in the first 5 minutes), bot lane dies a few times as well, and I proceed to get a solo kill on Swain top as soon as I get my ult, roam mid and kill their mid laner, proceed to carry to the tune of 5/4/15 with lots of help from jg WW (who after getting sated became really strong and probably carried late game harder than I did, although I think I'm the only reason we survived early - also WW and I were the only 2 to vote against surrendering on two votes, and we proceeded to win less than 3 minutes after the second surrender vote).
Last season when Ryze top was kind of a big thing, I owned him but had never really played him. So I was last pick in ranked, and I thought our lulu was top (she had 
) but after I was hovering nami with about 10 seconds left she says " I'm support". So I kind of panicked and picked the first top laner that came to mind, Ryze. I've only played this guy like once in a bot game, but he was pretty strong at the time so I did really well. He actually became one of my mains until they reworked him.
