I'm stuck in Bronze 4

Alright you might have already seen this topic, sorry for that but it was deleted because it was in the wrong category so I'm posting it again (i feel like even in life i'm boosted ;-;) cuz i'm kinda an attention whore but not so much gladly Don't read it again if you've already seen it cuz there is nothing new (except comments perhaps)

Just to warn you, this is a whiny rant cuz I'm kinda upset about what is going on each time i'm in promos

I've just played 4 games with Aurelion Sol, I'm not great with him but for a bronze 4 player I'm not too bad (you can check this out on lolskill, I'm euw btw so i don't know why i write this on the na boards but too late and i'm gonna have the same answers anyway) On each of this game, they were people on my team that feeded. On the first two (that weren't my promos), we managed to win ; not anyone was an awful player after all. So I got in promos, and I was against a Zed (which is kinda hard to play against as an aurelion). I ganked a lot botlane because I knew that I couldn't do that much against a Zed (on top of that he got first blood but Vi killed him just after that and i got an assist) so we were all pretty good in the game except the toplaner Mundo (he was against a Xin Zhao that was 5/0 with 150 creeps at 16 min and started ganked then). So we lose (and that Mundo was like surr or afk which is really boring don't ever do that plz). I started an another game then and I was against a Lux which is still not great but even if I was permagank at the beginning of the game by a shaco i managed to outfarm her and only get kill at the seventeenth min. And guess what was already the global score of our team ? 2/13, great ! On top of that, against us, there was a tristana silver 5. I mean what the fuck, we were between b4 and b2 and them between b3 and s5, this is not logical.

And that is like that at each promos. I know I'm not good enough to be in diamond, platine, gold or even silver but how can i get better if i'm stuck in the elo where there is always an afk or a feeder or someone that pick an Ivern top and then feed ? I'm rn a little ahead of the other bronze 4 i think, cuz when I'm not in promos I win almost each game i play since one month or two (I was really bad at the beginning of the saison and boosted in s5 so that explain why I still have shitty stats with my main who is Galio). Just if we have a look at the 19 last ranked games i've made i got (don't look that that's really boring) : W ; 5/0/18 as Galio W ; 11/4//22 as Galio W ; 3/8/9 as Galio W ; 3/2/18 as Janna Then I got promos L ; 0/5/4 as Galio L ; 3/7/8 as Janna So I was out of promos L ; 0/4/10 as Janna W ; 1/2/20 as Janna L ; 0/0/5 as Janna (my PC turn off because of heat, that loose was totally my fault, sorry if someone was in promos) W ; 11/3/10 as Aurelion (my first pvp game with him) W ; 1/2/13 as Janna W ; 12/3/19 as Galio And I was in promos again L ; 3/7/9 as Aurelion L ; 4/4/18 as Galio (i really wonder why they want to rework him) I then was out of the promos again L ; 6/7/7 as Urgot W ; 15/6/14 as Aurelion W ; 11/10/16 as Aurelion and again i got into my promos (that was pretty fast btw) L ; 6/3/8 as Aurelion L ; 0/5/6 as Aurelion As you see i got 9 loose on 19, less than the half and if we don't count promos that is 3 loose out of 13, is there some kind of algorithm that force you to be with feeders and toxic people when ur in promos while u are with perfectly fine people when ur not ? I really don't get it, perhaps I'm just unlucky or I don't gank enough our Ivern top feeding. Anyway, that's it you've read that cancer rant and u can downvote it if u want I was pissed off so I wanted to complain and it's done (but plz don't take troll picks in ranked and try to play safe when ur behind your opponent)

(btw for the poll, two people voted for unlucky and two for the fucking stupid whiny bitch)

The moment you'll start getting better is when you understand that you're bad.

You're in bronze because you're bad. Not because of your team.

Not saying you can't improve but you won't till you stop blaming other folks.

On rare occasions will you get a game where its 6-30 or something really unwinnable.

Your odds of getting a completely one sided game are the same as everyone else's in Bronze.

You can do it man! Don't give up!

I already know I'm bad (even if i feel i'm as bad as a bronze 3 and not as a bronze 4 but that's not a huge difference) With a good team or not I don't think I deserve to be out of bronze cuz I would be boosted i'm realistic i know i'm worse than the silvers. It's just that if I had the teams I got in casual rankeds in my promos i would be bronze 3 rn. But still I know I'm bad (btw i'm never blaming anyone in the game, perhaps after as you can see with this rant but not during the game or in the place where we can see the stats (if i was doing that i wouldn't stand myself)) Anyway I know if I was better I would win more but sometimes it's not only my fault when there is a silver 5 adc against us and a feeding toplaner that choose to play ivern in ranked (and sometimes it's 100% my fault when my pc turn off because of the heat, or when i'm doing shit (like some 0/5/4 with galio))

Promo curse.

Though on a serious note, I suggest you to play another champion besides Aurelion Sol. If your not winning, you don't know how to play Aurelion Sol. (Same with any other champ). I would suggest for you to try to learn Annie or Ekko.

Well I have a 50% winrate with Aurelion that is not that bad actually .-.

  • Aurelion is a champ that I really like to play I mean if I'm support or adc of course i won't play him but if i'm mid i won't play some champ that i don't like i would play him (or galio)

omg my english is kinda cringy (forgive me i'm french and only 17 so i can't be excellent in english)

You need better than 50% to climb, as 50% is only enough to not fall to a lower rank. Much higher if you want climb quickly. The goal you need to shoot for is winning enough to get 3 or more wins in a row and almost never more than one loss in a row. This will cause your match maker rating to go up quickly, resulting in more LP on wins and less LP lost when you do lose.

It does not matter if you are better than average in some things for your level if you are also worse than average in other. Just pick something to get better at, work at it, then go on once you have noticeably improved and work on something else.

For example last season I was placed in Bronze 5 because I was bad in Season 4, but after being placed I got to Bronze 3 after only about 20 games because I had between 70% and 80% win rate with Braum support. I only did not get higher because my internet connection became unstable for most of the season for some reason, and then once it was fixed I decided to do ranked 5s instead to get the ward skin.

TL;DR - To advance you need to win more, what you change to do that is not important as long as it leads to you winning enough to get win streaks while avoiding loss streaks. Just remember not all games are winnable, you just need to stop losing the ones where it is possible.

Really ? Cuz when I win a game i gain like 25 LP and loose about 14 while I'm not above the 50% winrate (thanks to janna). There is actually one champ with which i'm above the 50% it's Galio, I was so bad at the beginning of the season that we can see i've got a 44% winrate with him but when I had like 30 games with him I was more about the 30/35%

I think what is really keeping me in bronze 4 is that I don't gank enough ; since 1 or 2 months i'm almost always in a good position but not my teammates (that must be because I play a lot of arams where there is only 1 lane)

I'm kind of in a simular situation. I made it to 75 lp at one point then I kept getting whiney bitches who int. One i dodged since there was an asshole who never told anyone he wanted yasuo and he was an otp (stop watching voyboy) and he threatened to int. The other one I had someone be a complete asshole and sore loser who went afk and stayed connected to avoid low priority then my adc said somthing and then he noted and I reported the fuck out of him and I bet he was permmabanned. Then I lost 2 games. I cant seem to get back up. If you get out of b5, you will get stuck in b4. Also it's even worse in b1 from what I've heard

When i think about it I'm almost an otp I only have two main champs in midlane and 3 champs that i know how to play decently in support .-. What a shame :/ (but Galio is never pick or ban so that's okay)

So yeah i can't stand either some %%%% telling he'll feed or afk or stuff like that, those are the most boring people with flamers

But does that mean i'll be stuck in bronze 3 if I managed to get out of bronze 4 ? that's kinda like a nightmare .-.

The problem is that you have 41% win rate, not that you are unlucky.

Don't blame it on your teammates. There are 4 other players on your team and 5 on the other team. That means there is a higher chance of AFK or feeder on the other team than yours.

Focus on what is the only consistent thing in your games, yourself. Don't look at what your team could have done better, but what YOU could have done better for your team or better as a whole. Be more consistent with the champions you play. I see you play ADCs, Mages, Supports, Tanks with all sort of summoner powers and at different roles (Top, mid and bottom). Stop! Choose a role, pick a list of champions that fit that role and your style of play and master it.

I got Diamond because I chose to be a Support and my list of Support is focused on sustain caster supports with the occasional tank. I got Diamond because I didn't blame my team but rather looked at what I was doing wrong. My ward per minute as increased tremendously, I now am the highest pink wards bought in almost every game I play, I know every avenue of ganks for every champions and know how to counter or capitalize on it, I improved my decision making, learned to help where help is needed, bought items that I don't usually get because it was the better choice and the list goes on. I one-shotted my promos from plat 1 to diamond 5 with a 3 win to 1 loss. Was it luck? Perhaps there was luck involved, yes. Someone rage-quit on the enemy team on my last win after all. But there is one thing that is consistent about me: My 56% win rate. This means I will climb over the course of time, no matter what luck may bring.

If you want to climb, you need to take a step back to see the larger picture, not try to take steps forward blindly. You don't have to be good, you just need to be better.

Indeed I have a 41% winrate, but 5 months ago it was more like a 30% winrate, and if we only take 2 last months it's about 50%

I might sound like i'm blaming other teammates but i'm not i mean for sure i blame that ivern top but for example the botlane feeded ; why ? because first there was a silver 5 trist against us, and also i did not gank botlane enough, i knew that i made that mistake when that is kinda my fault that they had feed. While Ivern top is more like a troll pick. If I blame him it's because he pick that on purpose while it was obvious that the olaf against us would be huge because of that. If it wasn't ranked, I wouldn't have mind, but that was my promo so i found that really annoying. But as I already said I know i'm for sure not good enough rn to be even in silver, i just found it boring that i can't really know what division i deserve to be in if i play all the champions that please me (and they are not only supp or ap carry) Also i play a lot of arams so it might look like i main a lot of champs but there is only 5 champ that i play more than the others and they are Galio, Janna, Aurelion, Kog'maw and Urgot (i don't really play Kog'maw and Urgot in ranked btw). They don't have similar roles and way to play them but they are the champs that i really like to play so i'd rather be stuck in bronze 4 (and bitchin' about that) that having to stop playing some of them (even if feel like i will stop playing galio and urgot because of the reworks)

But i totally admit that I buy enough pink wards and that I don't buy differents items according to against who i am playing i know i need to improve myself about that.

Btw i don't want to climb too much, in fact i do prefer games where making one mistake doesn't ruin the game but i don't think i'll get to be good enough to hit this kind of threshold

I hate my ADC1 votes

Here's the thing.

  1. You asked yourself why bot lane feeded and came with the solution that YOU should have ganked botlane and helped them.
  2. You shruged off the Ivern top.

First point is the right behavior to have but the wrong question. Second point will bring you nowhere. Here what mentality you should of had in both those situation:

  1. Ask yourself what could I have done to help my bot lane? I should have ganked and helped them.
  2. Ask yourself what could i have done to play around having an Ivern top versus an Olaf top in my team? I should have monitored the situation top lane, helped if necessary and/or possible with ganks, focused my build late game according to who had the most money on the other side.

I don't know enough about playing Aurelion Sol to give you the proper advice on what you should have done exactly and looking at the game itself, I doubt it was salvageable, but games like that happen and you need to use them as a learning opportunity. And even those games can be won. I won a game where the enemy team had 20k gold advantage over my team because I went and supported our 6/0/0 top Trundle with my Nami so the Trundle himself could protect our team. Me and him held long enough against the fed enemy team to give our team the opportunity to make a comeback. We made the right decisions this game and won because of it.

This is why you need to take a step back to see the larger picture. It doesn't matter if you have an Akali jungle, a top Ivern, a MF support and Malzahar ADC. You can always tip the balance in your team favors if you made the wiser decisions. Sometimes, no matter how much you tip the balance, you will lose, that is part of the game, but the more you tip the balance, the more you will win.

P.S. op.gg shows which champions you played in ranked, so I know how many games you played with which champions in ranked, the win rate on those champions and your overall win rate in ranked.

Well that's weird, i'm not really getting better at making decision, only at having better statistics, at the beginning of the season having like a 3/7/10 with galio was average, and now 4/5/12 is disappointing but still i'm in bronze 4, so yeah i think the fact that i'm bad at making decision is, as you seems to think so, what keep me in bronze 4 so i'll try to work on that.

But the problem when i play support is that each time i try to support someone else than my adc, the adc flame and it's sooo boring I end up with him to keep him quiet (until he die), that's bronze mentality after all (for myself even if i might sound like i'm used to flame in this rant, i never flame) Well I'll try also, then, to be more optimistic but I'm not the worst, I mean I never surrender and try to find a way to win (but I don't ever find that way and we're behind so it's sad :/)

Also about op.gg, forget about Xerath, Karma, Urgot and Kog'Maw, I don't play them anymore in ranked, and also my win rate changed a lot with galio since the beginning of the season, i was about 30% at this moment with him and i'm pretty sure if we only keep the 20 last games that i made with him i'm above the 50% win rate or at least really near

Winning is a combination of:

  • Positive thinking
  • Knowledge
  • Mechanical skills
  • Decision-making In no particular order. Read guides or look at guide videos, talk with high ranked players, play with them, learn from them, ask questions to both yourself and others on what you could do better. A simple decision like starting with a Doran or Corrupting potion can lead to a snowball. Choosing a better time to recall can lead to a tower kill, that gold can mean an item for another lane, this item can lead to a clutch kill, that kill can create a snowball. Every little thing matter and wherever you are on the map, each decision you make will undoubtedly affect the other players.

In a game, me (support) and the ADC got 4 man tower dove early in the game, my ADC died and it would have been 1 to 0 for the enemy team but my middle and jungle made a good decision and counter ganked leading to a 4 to 1 for us, this led to a complete stomp from a simple decision that the middle and jungler made... they gave up on their farm at the right time to follow on their opponent.

With all the arams that I made i kinda think that my mechanical skills are slighly better than the average bronze 4 but not my decision-making. Well anyway thanks a lot for all ur answers cuz that is helping

At least, I kinda gank more than before rn I think if I keep improving I'll be able to be bronze 3 in like 2 or 3 promos (but that would be really long until i finally get good at this game but that is not so important after all it's a game)

For the positive thinking I almost got it, I always feel like there is a way to win the game i'm currently in, even if we're really far behind (even the one with the Ivern top, our adc managed to get 7 kills after all).

The real problem is for sure the decision making, especially for the items that i need to buy

Easy to get out of bronze. This is another account i have which is bronze. I'm a silver scrub and all you have to do is play a easy champ like Annie/Veigar. That is how I dominate through bronze.

It's hard to climb in general. League's matchmaking specifically tries to balance your winrate to as close to as 50% as possible. It's very difficult to combat this unless you play BETTER than the current division you're in. If you play like a B3 player and are in B4, you naturally have a higher chance to win games. Here's my strategy to climb:

  1. Play a simple champion. It doesn't matter if you like to play him/her or not, still do so. Two good champs are Annie and Veigar , as mentioned below. This way, you don't have to worry about any complicated skill mechanics that can straight up lose a game if used incorrectly.
  2. Play with a friend. Only ONE friend. Duoqueue is great because you have some communication on the map, and it's just nicer to play with a friend who can help you deal with frustration.
  3. Blame yourself. This makes you better. Even if your ADC went 0/20, don't worry about him. Think about how you can do better ONLY. Why? Because you're in every game you play. The 0/20 ADC is not.

Well Galio is pretty simple, but I don't want to be otp (even if there is not really a huge risk with galio) and I don't have a lot of champs. This is sad there is no longer the pre rework xerath cuz i used to be good with him (i was like always 14/6/10)

I know that I'm about 70% winrate when I play with my friend (i mean i don't have only 1 friend) but he's silver 5 and was gold last season (without being boosted idk what happened) so i feel boosted after that.

I know also I don't blame myself enough and idk why because that's not like that irl i'm not some basic bitch (most of the time) that thinks everyone is way worst than her so that's weird. One of the mistakes that I know i make is that i'm kinda like cringefresco (yeah i don't like him) i don't ward enough

First of all i use to think like you. Bronze 5 played with some friends learned actual skill. Made a new account and not im silver 3 with 2 wins and one loss due to afk. You need to get good and stop whining. Your on eu its easy.

From what I've read you're determined to stick to your favorite champs, which shows dedication. That's a good thing, so the first thing you need to do is practice farming. Try to get to 70 cs by 10 minutes. Don't just do it once. Get so consistent that you can do it every game. Im sure you know farming is important. If you can do this and not die every single game you are already more consistent then the other players you see there, or even much higher then that. All the gold you obtain by good farm will just outright make you win. More items and more damage will let you suppress your opponent and they won't have any options left. Even if you are on aurelion sol you don't need to roam unless it is 100% going to work. If you roam and it fails, then you probably missed out on a wave or two. You also didn't make anything out of the roam. If you can roam and it's definitely going to work, then take it. If not, then just stay mid and keep farming. By the time everyone comes mid, you'll have the highest farm in the game and the enemy mid won't be able to influence the fight like you. I like to try to have 30 farm less than the game time. For example 10 minutes=70 farm or greater, 15 minutes=120 farm or greater. That isn't the only thing to learn, but it's a good start

I'm so sad they'll rework my main. I don't really like his passive but except that i kinda think is almost flawless, so i guess i would have to find another champ soon cuz i don't want to be otp About farming, I was really shitty at that until 4 or 5 months ago, now i'm just not excellent but at least decent. But i'll definitely consider that advice thank you And it's true that i'm not always sure if my roam is gonna work, but i'm not doing it when allies pushed the lane, so i could be worse on that point It's just kinda hard to farm as a galio, i'm better for that with aurelion

lil update, I finally won my promos and this was really really easy Their botlane feeded a lot , and i was myself pretty huge (i ended up with a 7/2/15) as galio so now i'm in Bronze 3 and that's great :D Fun fact I was supposed to be with the feeding botlane but someone quit the game and i was with a different botlane Without this dodge, i feel like i would still be bronze 4 (perhaps i would have win, who knows ?)

Usually in order to get to your promo you have to go on a win streak. This win streak increases your MMR faster than your actual game rating (you're still bronze 4 but your MMR might be bronze 3 or bronze 2.) Because your MMR is much higher than the average for your division the matchmaking system pairs you up with some people who have below average MMR for your division because it "balances" the teams. This is why some people feel cursed in their promos.

Just keep playing and don't worry about it. Your rank doesn't matter, what matters is you MMR (which is hidden.) If your MMR is above average then you'll get more LP for a win then a loss which means that as long as your win rate is greater than 50% you'll climb. Furthermore, failing your promos isn't near as bad as in the past. Now with promo helper if you fail your promo the first time the next time you reach your promos you get an automatic win (and therefore only have to win 1 out of 2 to be promoted.)

Just stick with it and keep playing. Don't worry about your teammates just focus on improving yourself. In the long run the number of games you get feeders on your team will equal out with the number of games you get feeders on the opposing team and all you'll be left with is how you performed when the games were close.
