Why the new Yorick rework is a failure.

Yorick Mori, the once gravedigger has underwent some heavy changes to both his abilities and his story. While the story update is a welcome fresh take on the character, his kit is where the problems lie.

His passive: A confusing little thing that though unwritten in his ability descriptions, spawns minions upon second activation of his Q after he gets a minion kill and at least 3 graves are nearby...

What? But no no no, don't worry. There's more to his passive so it must get better, right? It doesn't.

The second part to his passive is simply that every 12th minion that dies nearby will become a grave... Because apparently it's too hard to farm so this is necessary I guess? Despite the cap to 4 ghouls at a time.

Q: A spin on his old Q with maybe some Nasus in there, his new Q does a large amount of damage, gives you some health, and if you kill a minion with it, it spawns a grave.

This is his only good ability and creates the opportunity to go full damage Yorick or tank Yorick which is good for variety.

W: His W is one of the most worthless abilities I've ever seen in League of Legends. It's a wall like Jarvan's, but it does no damage, is destructible, and enemies can pass through it with almost any mobility ability. (Any tap of Riven's Q can pass through it despite only her 3rd being able to pass through most walls) The ability basically wastes your own time and is only semi-useful for blocking the path of the few champions without gap closers or escapes.

E: The strangest shaped skill shot in League of Legends, is shoots a "globule" that does 15% of the enemy's current health, slows the champion at a barely noticeable rate, increases your speed towards them and scales slightly off AP. It sounds like a great idea, but it will take forever to do much of anything with it. Most champions as previously mentioned have gap closers that allow them to keep well away from the greatly immobile Yorick should they feel threatened and your little ghouls don't do nearly enough damage even with 4 to make more than a poking amount of damage.

R: The biggest letdown of them all. When the new champion spotlight for Yorick was released, people constantly freaked out about how ridiculously overpowered the Maiden of the Mist would be. Oh were they wrong. Her split push? Don't worry about it. The turret focuses her once it's done with whatever it's currently after and she goes down before you and her can make a dent on the turret. How does she go down so fast? Isn't she tanky or something? Nope, not really. She can be eventually if you build a LOT of health, but then your damage to the turret is extremely minimal and she's basically useful as a stalling minion for your teammates to have tank the turret while they do all the damage. Her damage to champions is like a level 6 Malzahar that doesn't immobilize you ulting a level 18 with a full build. She does about that much damage if you end up hitting the same target as her. The target by the way is completely up to her, so screw your smart focusing, if she wants to go for the full tank Mundo instead of the adc currently dominating then that's what she'll do. She don't need no man to tell her what to do. If she wants to run at that turret with no minions she'll do just that. And don't even think about trying to take her back to base to heal up, she won't follow.

In all, the rework 100% relies on the Q and E working well together, leaving any chance of variety in combos out. If you do much more than recommended tanky bruiser Yorick, you'll get destroyed. It's simply not an improvement. At least with Old Yorick, you could successfully go whatever you wanted build wise including on-hit, life steal/health regen, AD, AP, or anything in between and in lane you didn't get dominated by a Riven who just denies anything you want to try. Old Yorick you could poke someone far away or 1 v 1 someone trying to smash their axe into yours.

_ Rest in Peace, Yorick Mori. We will always remember you. _

It hasn't even been one day. It's way to early to even say this.
