I haven't gotten a key fragment in over 10 wins?

Am I just super unlucky or did something break for me? I've gotten 2 that I got the first day Hextech Crafting came out and since then I've gotten nothing. A lot of my teammates are getting them, but I'm getting nothing every time...

Are you playing solo?

Have you gotten your 4 chests yet? I've noticed that after I got mine, I never got any more key fragments.

I'm pretty sure I've gotten a key fragment after getting the last of my 4 initial chests, but I also haven't gotten one in over 10 wins. I spent the whole day yesterday trying to get a 3rd key fragment so I can open one of my 2 remaining unopened chests, but I didn't get a single one.

I got most of my key fragments while playing with my girlfriend, but recently I've been playing solo because she got tired of farming for key frags. I think the odds with 2 or more people are pretty healthy, but my guess is that the odds of getting a key fragment while solo is something around 10-20%. If it's 10%, then .9^10=.35, so there's a 35% chance of no key fragment in 10 solo wins. 35% is pretty big, and no key frag in 10 wins is pretty frustrating. I'd prefer it if Rito added in some safeties for edge cases, so that there's less frustration. If they could increase the odds of success after each failure, then they could stop people from going on long dry spells with nothing to show for their hard work. i.e., if you miss a key fragment on a win, the next win will have better odds of obtaining a key fragment. They can adjust initial values to 5%, but bump it up by a few percentage points on each miss, so that by 10 wins with no key fragment, players have a 25% chance to get a key fragment on their next win.

I feel you. In my last match as Yorick I went 15/1/4 and got an A+ one would think that would have been an S

Hmm, maybe it's just limited to 8 key fragments during the time where it was the first 4 chests. Since I reached 8 of them, too, and then I completely stopped getting them. And since then, I'd estimate I have about 25 wins including some of each of 1, 2, 3, and 4 queue. Hopefully more keys will become available soon.

I'm actually having the same problem, but it's just RNG.

I stopped getting keys as well.

I have yet to get a single key fragment at all. I've been in 2, 3, and four man groups and gotten 3-4 wins in a row with those people and none of us got key fragments. Part of the problem was that some of the games were in ARAM and apparently that was bugged, but even with 10+ wins in Summoner's Rift not a single drop. While I understand it's RNG, I still think the formula for that RNG needs to be tweaked. I am not a casual player, I play up to 8 hrs a day and often more on the weekends. For a casual player that plays maybe 4 games every other day, a system where it's A) hard to get the key fragments while solo, B) requires not 1, but three wins to acquire and C) has a bit too much RNG in it is going to end up with one answer:

Casual players will end up getting more hextech boxes than they will ever be able to open as they will be unable to acquire the key shards necessary. So I propose, either a tweak to the formula, or remove the key shards and instead just make it a single drop. You've already limited the total amount of chests we can receive in a year, which is also based on skill and/or having friends that have a decent degree of skill, why are you also limiting how often we can open these boxes?

Now sure, if you're really having problems you can spend five bucks and get a couple keys and problem solved, but not always. While I can sometimes purchase RP, I live on a fixed income which means things like RP purchases are things I make once every couple of months with it planned in advance and I'd much rather spend that RP picking up things specifically rather than on those keys. In fact I was hoping this system would make it so I wouldn't necessarily need to make those budget choices anymore and I could still pick up some neat skins along the way, but so far I've only been able to open that one free-bee box.

Now, this semi-rant may seem a bit selfish but in the end I'm trying to pitch my opinion for those casual players, those guys that can only play a few hours ever other day and may not be lucky enough to play in big premade groups, this is unfair to them more so it is myself because they are either going to have to be really lucky or never open a hextech chest until next season with how I've seen the drops going so far.

I get a key fragment about every 5 wins.
