Does q apply the bleed effect passive from w? So after you q and they are bleeding how do know when they have been bleeding for long enough to get the extra damage from w is there a mark or icon that alerts you to get the bonus damage?

Yes, there's a mark. It's bringht blue and shaped like a trident over their head. It fills up over time and enlarges and glows when full.
