Transition between solo and 5s

What's required to be in a serious 5s team?

I'm terrible at this game but I'm curious about at what point you should shift from playing solo to playing in team games.

For ranked teams, synergy and shotcalling tend to be more important than individual player skill. There are no real requirements, all you really need is to play with your team enough to have a firm understanding of their capabilities and their in-game tendencies (i.e. a toplaner who loves splitpushing or an ADC who ONLY plays Ezreal and Caitlyn).

Obviously, having players with higher individual skill is helpful, but increased communication skills can overcome decently large skill deficits. And obviously as you all play more games, you'll gain experience (aka skill), both in how to play with each other and how to play as individuals.
