A 1 to 1 ratio on any aoe spell is a lil bit much.... also when he has 900 AP 25 min into a game things get a bit toxic. Maybe we can address how this champ could use some reworking? There is no counter play to being 1 shoted, much like Talon or Leblanc who took some heavy hits for being able 1 shot people to easily maybe its time we look at the Veigs

you can't zhyonas if your stuned, veigar ability to zone, especially when fed, makes him very hard to deal with. besides even if you do manage to block his ult with a zhyonas that gives him the perfect opportunity to drop his w on you and get in position for his q.

Well you are supposed to take Cleanse if u lane vs him. If he stuns you, cleanse, move, he ulti, you Zhonya, As for his W, as soon as he stuns u he gonna cast it. So he will have CD after zhonya.

you not going to have zyhonas or cleanse up every time his ult is up, cleanse last 210 seconds as appose to r1 e which is at 18 seconds to r5 which is 14 seconds - 40% CDR is 6 second. Zhyonas is 90 seconds and veigar ult can be as low as 32 seconds with max cdr. if you plan to steer clear of him until then, he still wins because he gets free farm. how early do you plan on getting zyhonas anyways, with such a early investment you lose out on alot of mana sustain that keeps you in lane in the first place, and you lose out potential last hits because you have cleanse instead of ignite or exhuast.
with all those precaution you need to take, you end up forgetting that their are 4 other champions you need to worry about that potentially will make you need to waste the cleanse or zyhonas your saving for veigar.

no, his ult will certainly 100-0 you after his 2nd/3rd item, you do know that his ult gets bonus damage based on YOUR Ap, if he farms efficiently then he will be able to delete you ez peze by his 2nd or 3rd item. which i'm going to circle back to the issue of him zoning the fuck out you until he hits or misses his e.
how many games have you played with veigar? cause i have a rank 5 mastery with him. i've seen first hand how much of a absolute faceroller he is. your best bet is going hexdrinker with a ad assassin or something with a long range poke like varus or xerath, this is what you call counter picking not counter play. counter play is the options i can take in game to prevent x from happening relying soley on game mechanics and not champion mechanics, veigar does have counter play, namely the things you named above but its not enough to stop him from being outright oppressive post laning phase.

DrCyanide1 votesA 100% AP Ratio on one ability. A 0% AP Ratio on another that's essentially required to land the first. That averages out to two abilities with a 50% ratio each. Better nerf Xerath, his basic abilities have better ratios than that.
Shiznyte1 votesYou all made valid points and yes there are certain things you can do to work around veigars awesomeness, but the fact is when a mid laner can just one shot a tank thats a lil messed up i have no complaints about him killing squishies that shit is fine i get that hes a counter mage and assassin but his combo should not 1 shot tanks and thats what happens sometimes especially if he snowballs with w combos and a tank has a very hard time dodging the stun and most times cannot build and hourglass unless its like chogath tank. the ult being a champion only skill shot would be nice just so its not easy for him to kill me in one hit make him work a lil bit for it.
