@Meddler @RiotJag @gypsylord Max HP and how it affects HP in game

I just want to know the mechanics and how "bonus health" is calculated?

For instance % Max HP runes / Veterans Scars Masteries (4%) affect in-game Max HP and their interactions with Gromp and Cinderhulk Enchantment?

Recently played Volibear Jungle and noticed that the % bonus HP wasn't taking the Above Mentioned ^ Runes/Masteries into consideration. For example:

Cinderhulk Enchantment Stats +400 health +15% bonus health (60) Passive UNIQUE – IMMOLATE: Deals 15 + (0.6 × level) magic damage per second to nearby enemies. Deals 100% more damage against monsters (400 range).

The "60" never updated to include the % bonus HP of the above mentioned Runes/Masteries.

So is the % map HP runes/masteries bugged to not increase HP (bonus HP) or rather increase (Base HP). If that is the case, then wouldnt Flat HP runes and Masteries be better? Is that why they are changing from % HP to Flat HP masteries?

Thanks, Nick Harter

Edit: +400 HP x 15% = 60 for those that arent too well with math. :D

bonus hp doesnt stack multiplicatively. if you have cinderhulk + veterans scars you have 19.5% bonus hp but the cinderhulk ofcourse only shows how much hp the 15% it gives by itself are. %bonus hp is not increased by itself, obviously.

however Cassiopeia's passive stacks multiplicatively?

It is probably because these effects do not stack recursively.

HP = (Base HP + Increased bonus HP multiplier x sum of all flat bonus HP) x increased max HP multiplier

On Cinderhulk, only the extra HP gained from the Increased bonus HP multiplier x sum of all flat bonus HP is displayed.

according to league wikia, all % increases stack additively except cinderhulk which gets calculated first and then the total hp gets multiplied by all other additively stacked %hp increases.

damn very complicated.

No need to worry about the toxic veteran's Scars mastery. RIOT has you covered and is changing it up to give a FANTASTIC 45 HP (even if this was a base value, on tanky thcmps this is STILL a noticeable nerf, cutting down on the HP gained by almost a quarter), while it the mastery worked off total HP, then you basically kneecapped it (I suspect this was done to make Strength of Ages look better, as few tanks picked it). On the subject of the math I think it's because Cinderhulk only works off Bonus HP, while these work off total.
