This is a question I think a lot of
players have when they pick up the champion. It depends on how long you have played the champion too and I think if you are a novice player, your stacks will be on the lower end. Sometimes
players spend the whole game stacking and then lose because they don't take objectives.
I am a Gold III Nasus main with over million mastery with the champion. I know when I am "stacking well" and not. I also understand when it is OK to stack. Some games you can't and others you can. Stack too long though and you will lose those games.
For the Novice
(new or learning) these are OK stack ranges:
-
10 minutes: About 70-100
-
20 minutes: 225-275
-
30 minutes: 350-450
-
40 minutes: 550-600
I think a rate of 100 stacks every 10 minutes is totally fine if you are learning the champion and have not played him for awhile. You are strong enough to be relevant, but you probably are not optimally stacking.
These are the stack ranges appropriate for seasoned Nasus players. People that have played
for awhile (rank is irrelevant this is applicable to all regular Nasus players. These numbers and ranges are a bit more specific.
Bad Stack Rates: If you are stacking at this rate you are probably having a rough game, getting zoned off farm, and dying a lot
- 10 minutes - 80
- 20 minutes - 250
- 30 minutes - 350
- 40 minutes - 450
Average Stack Rates: This is the rate you should consistently get that is considered "good" for a seasoned player. You should be around this rate in almost ALL your games if you play the champion a lot.
- 10 minutes: 115-120 anything over 100 stacks in the first ten minutes is fine.
- 20 minutes: 375-400
- 30 minutes: 550
- 40 minutes: 650-700
Ideal (God Tier): This is the stack rate of a Nasus that literally free farmed the whole game and there was no pressure in laning or on the map that warranted the player to stop stacking. I don't think these rates occur very often unless you are playing against players significantly worse than you. I am talking one full division or lower.
- 10 minutes: 175-200
- 20 minutes: 500
- 30 minutes: 700
- 40 minutes: 850-1000
Most of the time if you are a participant on your team your stack rates will drop off in** the post 20 minute mark of the game**. Why is that? Because at that point you as
should be doing stuff. You should be pressuring towers and shoving waves to them (losing stacks) or grouped with your team (also losing stacks). If you DO NOT do this you will almost always have a really high stack count, but you will probably lose the game. Basically you are not doing anything to help your team win. a
I mostly find myself in the average range in most of my games. Every now and then I find myself in God Tier or Bad category. In your games, regardless if you win or lose, you should be in the average category about 80% of the time. Consistency is really important with Nasus and this should be your goal with him if you want to have over a 50% winrate with him.
Note a few other things about stacks:
- Stacks have "diminishing returns" the longer the game goes. Opponents have probably itemized appropriately for your damage and they will focus their CC on you in fights. Basically the punch of your Q doesn't matter too much as a team builds more defense in the post 30 minute mark.
- After 500 stacks you do enough damage - Your focus should shift away from stacking, you do enough damage to kill any squishy with about 3 Qs stacks. Past this point stacks are not at all that important since you are a force with which to be reckoned.
- 850-1000 stacks, are typically losses. Guess what? If your stacks are this high without being within the "God Tier" quota the game has gone on TOO LONG. It is probably a very very close game OR your team was playing from a huge deficit the whole time. The likelihood of you winning the game is not good either way. Look at it this way if you have 800 stacks and you haven't won the game "what have you been doing all this time". That's a lot of damage and if you are not utilizing that damage or are not a threat on the board it means you could have 2000 stacks and it wouldn't matter because the opposing team knows how to deal with you OR your team is so weak they can't stay alive long enough for you to Q everyone. Either way you will probably lose this game unless you literally ignored your team and never grouped for about 40 minutes and then decided "hey I am going to group and win." Basically you didn't do enough in the mid game to capitalize on your damage and you are in a tough spot.
Stack rates drop off as the game goes on in general because you are typically doing stuff with your team.
I really don't pay attention to my stack count after 500 post 25 minutes. They just aren't that important anymore as trying to win the game.
When asking "where should I be" with Nasus I always tell players "go to the lane with the closest tower". When you go where the towers are you are probably positioning right with Nasus. Edge lanes are preferable to the middle lane if the towers up are within the same tier.
