Some numbers from my LoL purchases Excel document:

Champs owned, total: 123 Champ cost, total (RP): 6109 Champ cost, total (IP): 410400 Skins, total: 151 Skin cost, total (RP): 98475

Runes, total: 212 Rune cost, total (IP): 153799

Current IP: 200686 IP earned, total: 827791

the whole point of the champion sales was for people to use rp on champions, it wouldn't make any sense to put the ip prices on sale too

one more thing: Less IP cost = less games required by new players to get 16 champs = ranked games in silver become more chaotic due to more unranked players who are new to the game up until lv30

I had more than 16 champs at level thirty anyway. I bought the cheap champs first, the only champ I bought that was more than 1350 ip was talon.

im pretty sure there are some new players who dont get stopped from IP limit by jumping on ranked with the 16 cheapest champions, but im also pretty sure it would discourage some new players who want to get more champs that they can actually play to a viable level

Good point a lot of champs I bought at first weren't exactly champs I liked to play and didn't want to put a lot of time into to learn.

That doesnt mean anything. They still get less from Skin sales.

Just because the rest stays the same doesnt mean it is the same if you remove one of the Numbers.

I completely agree! I buy most of my champs with RP but this would be such a nice option for people who don't like to charge RP (which is totally fine!)

They actually used to! But over the course of time, it seems that riot has been leaning towards RP on a majority of objects, even summoner icons.

It's not like Riot just gave out 2 free summoning icons for the Teemoing.

As well as the usual 1500 IP icons that show up everytime there are new themed icons being released.

Besides even then the RP icons are 250 which should equate to maybe around $2 (just an estimate I'm no expert on dollar to RP conversion).

this issue has been thoroughly discussed for years and it is extremely obvious why this isnt the case. champions cost way too much ip as it is but they will never change the ip price on a sale because they make money from champion rp sales too. really crying about it now is just stupid.

Maybe have a different set of champions on sale for IP then the ones on sale for RP that week? Maybe not by 50% but enough where it'd be worth it for someone to wait a little longer for an IP sale if the champ they want is on the list. Even 25% off for an IP sale on champs would be decent. This way it'd still be nice for people with IP and the sales shouldn't diminish from the RP sale champs.

Sale means you can spend less money to obtain something If you had to make a car and they ran a 50% off sale, that doesn't mean you can build half the car and get an entire one.

I'm okay with champion prices, I'd say the better way to help new players would be to drastically decrease rune prices, these are much worse to purchase for newbies.
