How to introduce variation to Jungle - COUNTERJUNGLING!

Yes, you heard me right.

At the moment Riot is claiming they need to add plants because Jungle has been solved and is very straightforward.

Well, let me tell you, this is mainly because counterjungling is not as effective as it should be. It's very hard and unrewarding to counterjungle early unless you are Nidalee/Shaco/Lee, and even then farming your jungle is better most of the time.

If you introduce more incentives to counterjungle the Jungler role becomes less like a Solo PvE experience and more Junglers will need to be more mindful of PvP.

What could be done to make counterjungling more effective? For example I would introduce a new buff to the jungle upgrade that would have the following effect:

Killing a Large monster in the Enemy Jungle with Smite transforms Smite into a dash that can be used within the next 5 seconds.

Of course additional incentives would also be needed but items that incentivise counterjungling are a must!

If we make counterplay in the jungle too easy, then it might also be easy for ganks to have results. As a support main, having yet another problem to juggle along side the more-than-occasional bad ADC plays will make climbing even harder

Good points, wrong approach to solve it in my opinion. But at least you are making ideas.

as a jungle main i agree that counter junglling is shit and mkst of the ti.e not even worth it but your solution doesnt seem to make it anny better to me

maybe it be a better idea to make dtolen camps spawn more slowely so that the ebemy jungler gets more behind

The big problem with actual counterjungling is that it's rather inefficient and doesn't "fit" well with recent mechanics. With the addition of the global buff timers, there's so little to gain from stealing smaller camps when you can usually just wait for the enemy jg to do it then kill them for more money.

All I read is "Counterjungling is only extremely effective when you are playing a counterjungle champion."

Counterjungling as a strategy completely screws so many picks, and when it's strong, it's ridiculous

Counterjungling is VERY effective; most people just suck terribly at it. With how much vision was nerfed in Season 6, strong counterjunglers can do pretty much whatever they want the entire game and the long respawn times on camps makes recovering from counterjungling even more difficult.
