Does cs matter as much in low elo?

Whenever I watch pro play, they all have ridiculous numbers of cs, like 10 per minute. Obviously that's partially due to their mechanics - they don't miss nearly as many last hits as I do. But sometimes it seems impossible for me to find the time to farm.

Example 1: I'm an adc or a mage. I go to a sidelane to collect a minion wave. But then I push it into the enemy territory (I don't think I can just freeze and last hit - that would be a huge waste of time) and it's no longer safe for me to farm that lane. In theory, an opponent should now come and collect this wave, pushing it back. But often they don't. And so I lose a wave or two because I can't walk that far up without risk of dying. Is there a way to avoid that or is that fine since the enemy loses cs as well?

Example 2: Same story, but I can't even go to a sidelane because everyone is playing ARAM and fighting 24/7. So I have to stay grouped in mid.

So is there a way to achieve that 10 cs/min in low elo, or should I just accept that helping the team is more important and I have to forfeit the farm every now and then?

If you learn how to cs you will get to gold elo without a problem. On my main im diamond 2 support main. On this acc im trying to learn how to play other lanes. Currently learning toplane. I lost a lot of games cuz i didnt had the habbit to last hit. I spend whole day in practice tool only cs-ing. And my avarage cs per min is around 8 to 9

Csing is everything in low elo,

You can win simply from having good last hitting alone.

Depending on vision, you can push right up to the enemy tower. Back off as soon as multiple enemies are MIA around mid or your sidelane since they oculd be coming for you. Then go clear their nearby jungle camps (IF enemy shows up at tower and just wants to defend it) or clear your own jungle.

Example 2: Same story, but I can't even go to a sidelane because everyone is playing ARAM and fighting 24/7. So I have to stay grouped in mid.

Similarly, go push a sidelane, chances are your team as a 4 can defend the turret while you get an extra 20 - 40 cs form sidelane + jungle.

CSing is most important in low ELO if you're good at it, and not the biggest deal if you're mediocre.

It's not the biggest deal if you're good at it in high elo, but is a huge problem if you're mediocre or bad at it in higher elo

you can get a full item up on your opponents in silver early on if you're csing perfectly or close and just destroy. (if you don't pick adc that is and play a busted top laner, you'll still lose as 15/0 adc to any 0/10/x fiora/yasuo/irelia)

The only way to really push up 'safely' is to have vision on the enemy team. You need to either ward or see them on vision. If you can look at the mini map and see that 3 are mid, 1 is top, and you spotted the 5th in the top side jungle, .. you can probably get away with taking that extra wave. Otherwise you need to have wards on your side of their jungle as an early warning system to let you know they are on their way to you. If you don't know where they are, assume that they are on the way.

The advantage you gain from letting those waves go to waste is what I think of as the 6th champion. That wave will build up and crash into the enemy's tower and if the enemy doesn't responding to it, they can take it down. So by not continuing to push up with the wave, it is more likely that the enemy team will ignore the minions because they're looking for champions. If you can be at or on your way to another objective, the enemy has to choose to clear the wave or contest the objective you're on / moving to.

Yes.

Farm as much as you can

People keep trying to justify farm is important in low elo when REALLY it's only important for when you're behind. I'm being serious. I've seen a Nasus win lane, then just farm all game when really the roaming Riven has a much more of an impact with hardly any farm because people are out of position so much in silver.

The same goes for when I'm playing champions who are DESIGNED to win lane like Renekton, if you just splitpush all game, you're going to get outscaled and you WILL lose. The key is just to farm, but not focus 100% of your attention on it, and when you get the first tower, just leave that lane and group, lol.

Edit: Another example is the other day I was playing Malzahar into a Fizz, and won lane, but Fizz just roamed bot lane all game while I PINGED it, and lost because the bot lane wouldn't listen to my pings. This Fizz ended the game with like 84 cs.

It matters in so much as having better numbers on your champion through items matter. And obviously, those low elo players that learn to buy the items with the best numbers for their champ and the state of the match will get more out of CS'ing well.

The low CS of people who have low ratings is a significant reason for why they have those low ratings. They don't understand minion health management at all and they are way too busy constantly attack their opponents instead of capitalizing on specific opportunities.

Yes, CS is important in low elo, but more specifically your CS/minute not so much your end of game CS #.

For example, your playing mid you're on annie enemy on fizz and you're playing safe and farming up, but he's roaming a bit. Now say game is 20min, Fizz has 3 kills from getting your jungler and killing botlane, but his cs is ~4/min (80cs @ 20), but you, as annie are around 7.5 cs/min at 150cs at 20, 6x melee minions are ~ 125 gold, and 6x caster minions are a bit under 90g, so your CS advantage will fairly easily make up for his 3 kills.

Always remember CS by FAR the most reliable way to get gold in the game.

Depends on the champ. A snowballing Talon/Katarina/Leblanc/Zed can get away with low cs, because they're running the map with kills from bounty-resetting opponents.

If you are an adc, you probably need the CS. If you're top you definitely need the CS.

But you don't win by getting gold. I can have all the gold in the world and in the meantime the enemy can destroy all the towers in other lanes, take dragons and baron.

I wasn't talking about last-hitting. But rather about clearing waves mid-late game. It's not just a matter of hitting minions, but most importantly, finding time to rotate to a side lane. And that's the biggest issue.

Trias00012/22/2019, 1:27:35 AM1 votes

Why don't people read anything more than the title? I'm asking how I can farm in mid-late game, not how to fucking last hit. Jesus.
