Ok, we need to stop pretending Nasus is balanced

For having one of the most powerful late games in the League, he has absolutely no trouble getting there. His passive is still far too powerful given that is scales off his Q, and the health gain at level 6 from his ult means you can't dive him post-6, and you can't dive before that because you won't have the armor to survive a dive. If you're lucky you have a 1-1 trade which doesn't put him behind, it merely puts nasus and his opponent ahead. This is the problem of vayne a season ago, when you have this insanely powerful late game balanced out by a meh early game. His W forces ADCs to buy a QSS or get dead, and because you can't force him out of lane without diving, either his Q gets farmed up or he gets a bunch of kill gold. His early game sustain is still too strong, 10% lifesteal out of the gate is still far too much. Either his Q scaling needs to be slowed or his passive needs to be nerfed further/reworked entirely.

Here is your logic error.

When someone hits lvl 6, getting the first turret down or both, it's the start of mid game.

Nasus is outright garbage in early game (given if you know what you're doing), meaning pre lvl 6 and he has an alright mid game which then translates to OP late, use his early weakness to your advantage.

EDIT: different to the Vayne's problem from some time ago, Nasus's "late game" doesn't come around after completing 1 single item unlike what Vayne used to have going for her earlier. Nasus has to farm at least around 20 minutes straight, completely finish at least 2 big items with maybe another 1 or 2 smaller components to be considered in late game phase.

lol more qq.

The current meta hates splitpushers and Nasus is a zero-mobility tank with piss-poor teamfighting and zero hard cc. This isn't a 1v1 game, and 1v1 is literally the only thing Nasus has going for him.

his late game is not that great....

his just a monster 1 vs 1 and tower taker from mid game to late-mid game. its tema fighting is pretty shitty since in this meta he cant deal with all the tank aoe cc and damage. often i see nasus player stay top all to long just slow farming and be us lees in team fights. but almost never seen him in diamond elo. his is a typical low elo champ cause he has broken lane after level 6 and first back if he not get super punished and nasus is really easy to fame with and the metnatliy to focus on farm si really strong in low elo cause peoepl suck at csing there its pretty silly. yes nasus is caner 1 vs 1 top lane. even riven cant really deal with him. the best is just pick a shower that can roam or someone like garen how can really punish him really cause he have sustain and sustain damage enough to stop nasus from cs:ing but not nasus not op and he is not good late game. i mean yes i probably beat poppy in pure 1 vs 1 but in temafight she just crush nasus. i will not say he is shit late game but the team fighting is really lack luster to be honest

The reason he gets to his late easily is his infinite fucking sustain.

Oh, I'm at fucking 100 HP and am supposed to be pushed out of lane? Go and fuck yourself, let me sustain myself up under turret, completely negating all of your poke and all of the mana you wasted.

Counterpick or get shrek'd

Cheesybox5/17/2015, 9:52:28 PM1 votes

I've played every supposed counter to nasus and all I end up doing is making him wait for his CS under tower. I can't harass him without losing the trade because of minion aggro. I can't prevent him from getting CS because he'll just walk up and smack the CS and then walk away while I pull minion aggro. If I do actually manage to zone him it means I push the lane which means he then gets jungle help and then I have to fall back and he happily farms under tower. There is no way to "shut him down," counter pick or not.

NemeBro5/17/2015, 9:59:02 PM1 votes

It's fairly simple to get to late game as Nasus, I agree.

There's nothing more fun than seeing Teemo pick into you when you're Nasus.

"B-but I thought I countered you...?"

Nope.

Cheesybox5/17/2015, 11:09:54 PM1 votes

But that's my point, he ISN'T easy to stop. His sustain makes it IMPOSSIBLE to stop him.

NemeBro5/17/2015, 11:17:13 PM1 votes

I don't know about all that.

Darius is a top-laner that has every tool needed to stop Nasus. By killing him.

Olaf can also fairly easily do it. His E too strong.

Vayne top doesn't give a single fuck about Nasus.

Swain is secretly Nasus' hardest counter.

Cheesybox5/17/2015, 11:33:22 PM1 votes

None of those people do anything but zone him, which means he just waits for the lane to push and then farms under tower anyway, and can farm reasonably well with his lifesteal and pots+cloth. They can't 100-0 Nasus instantly unless they build damage, which means once nasus gets some low level tank items and a sheen, nasus wins trades and starts zoning the other guy until the end of laning.

Shroom Junkie5/17/2015, 11:35:47 PM1 votes

Nasus is arguably one of the most balanced champions in the game. He has zero early game. Everybody can bully you more than the damage you put out. I bet Soraka could bully him early game. Granted, he has good early base stats, but without it what would he be? He has to be able to take a hit or else his entire game would be screwed because he wouldn't get any stacks.

Trust me, Nasus can be bullied hard enough that almost anyone can deny him CS and possibly get a kill for it. If he doesn't get CS, the game might as well be 4v5.

I just had a fun game against a Nasus actually! My top laner was Renekton. I was playing Hecarim with item 3717 and item 3071. I ganked for him a couple times, but other than that, Nasus was pretty free to farm.

When Nasus finally started joining teamfights, he was level 15 (same as our renekton), and nobody else was higher than 13.

we won pretty hard most of the time.

I do give both my top laner and myself some credit; him for understanding the matchup and knowing not to take tower, to bully Nasus early, etc.; me for knowing when Nasus was getting ahead and saving his butt 1v1s a couple times. But on the whole, even when well-farmed, Nasus was very manageable.

Ada Wong5/18/2015, 12:08:33 AM1 votes

Nasus Forces specific types of play take for example during a team fight if Nasus stays top you have two options

1.) Someone from your team can go stop him from farming getting more powerful late game

2.) Your team can press a lane

Nasus point in the game is to keep pressure and force games tactics/plays in games so the best way to win is end fast, and or get fed off Nasus if you can early.

JQKAndrei5/17/2015, 9:13:42 PM1 votes

Maybe nasus isn't balanced, but he's balancing, meaning that you know what to pick when the enemy has another op top laner.

Logic is that there mustn't be only 1 op champ in one lane but 2 for the other team to compensate.

D1rtFarmer5/18/2015, 3:34:54 AM1 votes

Nasus isnt an IF hes a When... Seen it plenty of times.

Nucleophilic atk5/17/2015, 9:15:49 PM1 votes

Idk, champs that can push early make his lane rough. Champs that can harass him without pushing lane make his lane rough. There are plenty of opportunities to shut him down in lane. Shut him down in lane and immediately push a 4v5 for das win before he gets strong.

PhantomGrave125/17/2015, 9:18:20 PM1 votes

i have to agree in rank play someone that can easly countr him like darius or rekn

Very Hard Engage5/17/2015, 9:21:55 PM1 votes

he has a horribly weak early game, any ad champion just goes ham on him and can shove him out of lane. he needs his Q stacks to do anything at all. and then theres the ranged champions who just obliterate him and get fed.
