So I won 7/10 placements against all Gold players and ended up in silver

Im starting to think MMR is riots way of making people play more and more games. Even my OP gg says 1550 MMR gold IV and I end up in this silver trash. Fuck you riot

That is why you ended in silver then. The system intentionally places a bit lower than it thinks they should be so they can climb during the season instead of being stuck in the same division for a year.

Also, OP.GG MMR is an estimate. Riot has never released the exact calculation, so OP.GG's estimate is bound to be off.

I am pretty sure that the max rank you can get from your provisionals is Gold I and that is only if you 10-0 them. Also ranked is a marathon not a sprint. No matter where you placed if you are good enough you will eventually climb [slayer-jinx-wink]

Plat 5 is the highest you ca be placed. Ive seen Nightblue3, and trick2g be placed plat 5 on fresh accounts:P

I'm pretty sure they include your past ranks too, so jumping to high silver from winning 70% of your games (if this was a testing score, that would be a "B" ) dosent seem all that shabby, especially if you decided to smurf or something.
