Is there any point to getting champion shards aside from stopping you from

getting skin shards? I'm over here leveling a smurf and I wish I could be getting champion shards instead of skins, but guess what? I have to own champions to get keys/chests.... I just disenchant every champion shard in my main because I have 0 use for it since I already own said shard or because idgaf about unlocking a champ I won't be playing. Yet i'm over here wanting champion shards over skins, yet I can't get either.

Any thoughts???
