So I experienced a competemt Teemo for the first time

I could already tell it wasn't going to be a good game, nobody could seem to agree on a role and I'm not sure our team comp was good. I'm pretty new and bad at this game so... yeah. Lots of arguing in the game.

Anyway, I was playing Soraka with a Zed and Teemo was our opponent, we had to go help out the other lanes a few times and when wet got back there were mushrooms EVERYWHERE in the lane. I could barely do anything because Soraka, y'know?

I did a little reading after the game and found that the Sweeping Lens could disable the 'shrooms, but I would have to sacrifice my Warding Totem for the Lens.

My question is: Is it my job as a squishy support to take the hit and forego warding in order to keep traps like this in check?

It is fairly common for supports to go item 2049 , especially with the new changes coming in preseason. After they grab , item 3341 is an immediate pickup.

Edit: A huge reason for item 3341 is the support, and hopefully the jungler, need to be clearing enemy wards to add onto their vision advantage.

as support you should always switch to the red trinket and buy sightstone

IF YOU ARE SUPPORT:

As a support (no matter which support character you are playing), you should always get sightstone on your 1st - 2nd back ("Backs" are when you recall). Right when you get sighstone, get the red trinket A.K.A Sweeping Lens.

IF YOU AREN'T SUPPORT:

If you aren't support, you don't need to get sightstone (I would advise not too) but always get the green wards A.K.A stealth wards, until you reach lvl 9 (in game). Once you reach lvl 9, you can upgrade your Warding Totem into an upgrading one.

if youre against a teemo

1- Buy banshees veil. It negates a great portion. 2- Assassinate him. He needs to be constantly moving around on the map to shroom. Catch him out and you will make his minefield shrink. 3- He is not the best of teamfighters. Promt your team to go on theirs when he is shrooming or splitting 4-pink ward the areas that need to be demined the most

"Taking the hit" What are you talking about? Buy a sightstone and get a sweeping lens, against Teemo you need this, constantly check for his traps. Sightstone is mandatory on a support anyway, remember to ward as much as you can, your jungle, other lanes, river, objectives, enemy jungle, just about anywhere. Also never forget to buy Pink wards, and replace them as soon as they get taken out (don't replace them on the same spot though), you want as much vision as possible. Don't forget to annoy your team about them getting their own Pink wards, it helps a lot.

Upgraded sweeper pretty much completely nullifies Teemo. That's why you never see him in competitive play.
