Mordekaiser duo mid viable after 5.16?

Since Mordekaiser is being forced into a duo laner, is it possible for Mordekaiser and support can go mid for a duo mid lane? How would it do against the current meta?

honestly lane swapping at low elos is almost always a good idea because any meta bbreaking usually leaves people dumbfounded below gold

I think this would work best with a heavily non-standard comp. Send a relatively safe ADC (Quinn, Vayne, Caitlyn) top to 1v1 while Morde and support go mid, then put some tanky champ with good wave-clear bot (Morgana, Shyvana, and Mundo come to mind). This forces the enemy into making some really hard decisions about who goes where before they lose their mid tower REALLY early and risk giving up a dragon AND its ghost to Morde.

then your ADC would have to 2v1 so it would be tough. Unless your AD went top then your top laner went 2v1 bot.

mord is meant to replace the adc m8

If ADC wasn't a necessary component of a team then you wouldn't see one every game. You need an ADC for sustained DPS and long range sieging which Mord can't do.

im just telling you what riot said in the juggernaut post m8, they stated themselves that they would like to see morde picked up in lieu of the standard marksman pick.

"We’re trying Mordekaiser out as a duo lane juggernaut, intended to step up in lieu of a regular marksmen pick."

regular duo-lane marksman, sure.

That still doesn't mean you couldn't run vayne top or varus mid or something.

Yeah I understand that but what I am trying to say is that just giving mord a few gimmicks (Ulting drag, solo lane XP in a duo lane on last hits) will (in my opinion) not make him a more viable pick over ADC's especially after Armor is nerfed and MR is buffed.

I understand the direction they want to go but I think he won't really be very good unless the team has an ADC elsewhere on their team.

Rework Morde is meant to go duo lane.

You'd still probably run a solo-lane ADCesque person like vayne top or whatever based on comp.

Yeah I know I just don't think he will be a better pick than ADC's even after the rework due to the fact that he is still an immobile melee champion in a lane ran by long ranged harass.

I'd say maybe it's good for ranked 5v5 teams, where you can make strategy with your team mates before match. In solo queue, it would be rather bad idea.

Id say he could take a support mid with him then put a bruiser bot that has good sustain. There are a few champions out there that can hold off two champs alone. Mid ap carry would get wrecked without help, forcing support to come mid. Then the adc has to fight the bruiser alone.
