I was going to buy syndra so i looked into her kits then i found her q at lvl1 deals 5o+(0.6ap).
why is it so low? oriana who has 0.2ap on her aa has 55 base damage. katarina has 60. even mundo q (minimun damage is 80) is higher.
I thought i heard that syndra is lane bully chamapion. can you actually harass anyone with it?(till lvl 4)
Because the balance team is unqualified to do their jobs.
For real, don't buy her. She's shit right now.
It used to be much much higher but they wanted to nerf her lane bullying potential, which makes sense considering she was designed as something of a lategame champion
I only played her a couple times to try it out on a free week, but IIRC a properly placed Q might as well be targeted, you can't avoid it. I't fairly spammy as well, not Karthus Q but close enough for harassment purposes. However, the Q isn't supposed to be a thing on its own but a setup to the entire rest of her kit. She's a combo character and a properly executed combo is supposed to be far greater than the sum of its parts.

Shes in a rather weird spot. People with flask+pots dont give a damn about your Q's, youll be oom before theyre out of heals With all the CC around right now and her only way of keeping things away from her face being unreliable (QE/E) shes an easy kill for pretty much anything Also, Yasuo and friends (high mobility champs) If I want a mage with high damage I might aswell pick Viktor. Will there be lots of teamfights? Orianna. Need an AP Assassin? Leblanc. All do around the same damage, require less experience and have a better way to get out of focus. She just has nothing going for her, no situation in which she stands above any other AP Burst Mage.OK, she's fun to play, gotta give her that. You can still do fine with Syndra though, DMG is high and if you manage to hit 3+ enemies in a teamfight it should be yours. Lets hope she gets some sort of love soon.

The reason it's so low is because it used to be overbearing. She was dealing too much damage early to trade for her ability to deal massive damage late.
Riot had to make a choice. Early game dominance or late game power to delete. Going with her theme of ever increasing power, they chose late game. And rightfully so. Syndra is in a decent place right now. Early game you have to combo w and Q together to make the best use of her early game.
She had a time that she was really strong, so they nerfed her. I guess they chose her Q to nerf. It is rather spammish, though. Could be wrong, but thought I remembered playing her once lol.
