So, i am learning that playing the right way has nothing to do with winning in bronze. For example, i main maok and panth. I can almost always hold top down as maok, even if im losing at first i hug turret, get cs, and maby steal a kill under turret. But if my team is losing.. i am the most helpless tree useless as some crab grass. But i was literally running around on singed. and i honestly suck with singed.. and im stealing games. Not even trying.. like ill go supp and then just push lanes late game and win. This isn't fun for me, i would much rather play maok in a good 5v5 game. Is this just not possible? IF not can you give me a list of champs that i can switch to as i move up? I think that would really help. Also i just played a gain where a yorick just destroyed everyone and won the game.. When does it actually get competitive ?

Think of it like this amigo.

Bronze to gold has no impact on how well you do.

Its literally whoever has less retards. I hate to be so blunt but its true.

You should 5 man queue in bronze and try to rank up that way. Once you hit Plat you notice your teammates are a bit more stable.

But yeah i feel you man.

Bronze - Maokai is the worst champ to play

Silver - Maokai saves ppl but still loses

Gold - Ehhhhhhhhhhhh

Platinum - Maokai is a top notch team fighter and usually does a lot so the team can follow up

Diamond - Maokai is never a bad pick. Great team follow ups more than most

you can shitstomp bronze to gold if you know what you're doing, it's nothing to do with "my team has less feeders so I win". think of it like this: a game has ten players and we're going to assume you're the good player who doesn't belong in let's say, bronze. so that means your team has a maximum of four feeders while the enemy team has potentially five. if you have a desirable impact on your game, that means you can probably stop one or even more of your team mates from feeding and making them strong. so that leaves you with a maximum of 2-3 feeders on your team while the enemy team again has the potential for five. if you know what you're doing and stomp lane, that's a guaranteed one feeder at the very least.

also, maokai is normally always a bad pick in diamond, his laning is weak for the little tradeoff he has after he gets through it and the meta picks right now just counter him.

Ya i havent gotten anywhere near that far so i wouldn't know. But im a creative player but i also try and get better by asking question like this, or watch pro vids on youtube. I was watching this pro maok/panth and im like.... uhh i do all these things, or i could have avoided that gank.. And i try to be honest with myself which is the only way to get better. I agree though if you know what you are doing you can easily win bronze games. But it just depends on the champ more, then a good team comp. Ya any good ranged champ can do some heavy damage on maok in a solo lane. Hes usually my pick if the other team picks a tank top.

i guarantee you don't do all the things the pro mao/pan player does. there's a lot of minor nuances which lower rank players miss out on and which I'd probably have to write ten paragraphs to explain to you because there's quite a bit to it.

champ and team comp are non factors to climbing in bronze, I ranked my smurf straight to diamond in 70 games playing almost pure poppy, and people always say you should play carries to carry games if you're smurfing but I carried games with like a 70% win rate by playing a tank that to be honest was a super weak pick (it was after they gutted her).

play a champ you're good at, work on your game sense and you'll climb lower ranks gg ez

also you say champs dont matter. So maby you can help me here. Lets say you are top maokai. You are 2/0/0 and are up on cs. Its under 10 min and bot/mid lane towers have fallen and everyone keeps dying. Maby you have one person thats not doing horrible but still both lanes have fallen. Meanwhile your agains up against a nasus top lane. What do you do ? I have tried leaving lane... and that has ended in disaster. If i stay top and make sure nasus doesnt get stacked i get raged at.

normally you can tp/roam to impact other lanes before your other lanes get boned. maokai should never be able to kill a nasus in lane so tp ganking or roaming to other lanes would actually be the best way for you to get the game rolling in that situation.

well i am doing pretty well panth. But just now i was owning top, and bot lane lost towerr in 9 min and then mid disconnected. I am about to get demoted, also about to throw my computer out the window

very helpfull. I was up 1/0 against a panth as maok last game. under 10 min, bot and mid were gone and thresh is yelling at me to leave lane haha. So this makes a lot of sense. I tend to play champs i like and play them a a lot. But after reading your comment maby ill start changing it up if im doing all the right things and still losing. Actually i might look at the game a lot differantly now instead of just feeling like dog shitt after matches

no no, i totally agree. There are plenty of little things that prob didnt notice like when too push a wave or when to run. Small things that would prob take a "hey panth make sure you do this next time" but honestly i watched a full game from start to finish from when he used spells, to how much cs i should have... to even the attack speed of panth when he was hitting minions. Runes/masteries are not a big deal that can be changed if needed. But i watched when he ulted, when he left lane, all that stuff. Now this was just one game and his team was doing decent so he was able to spend most of his time top untill it was taken down. Then he ulted bot.. WHICH IS WHAT I DO!! haha ya i donno it would prob have to take a real game for me to see what you mean.

well i have watched a few vids, and i learned its more about farming and lane pushing in bronze not as much team comp/team work. I won 6 in a row just now with singed lol just farming and pushing and got to bronze 4. I also played a 5v5 game liek you said and it was so fun man. I Was maok top and actually felt peace for the first 10 min and the team fights were crazy. We won, and i won lane but the game went back and forth and i didnt feel angry at anyone. So team work was the key 100 percent in that match as in solo bronze its totally differant. I have been playing for years and just learned this now, kind of a shame.

This is a terrible attitude to have, and it's absolutely not true.

It is not hard to carry games in bronze/silver/gold. If you deserve to be in a higher ELO, you will climb.

I think there are probably better and worse strategies in any given ELO.

When I see Bronze games, I rarely see coordinated pushes or objective control. So in that ELO, I really think split pushers/skirmishers are the fastest way to carry.

If your teams are only ever grouping and trying to pick 5v5s (I saw that a lot in Gold), then pick a good team fight champion.

can't agree with this enough... there's a reason why better people tend to have no problems at all escaping from low elo. most notable when a high elo player plays on a smurf account.

Brah I don't recommend maokai in bronze. In that elo very little teamplay happens, and mistakes are plenty. Start playing panth top and jungle, or top and mid.

Why? Maokai is a teamfighter. In bronze you cant rely on your team, they will lose the game for you.

Pantheon is aggressive. You can pick up kills and snowball the game, and that's how to win in bronze. That's why elo boosters play Khaxiz and Pantheon.
