Kassadin Needs a Comeback.

I am sure most of you remember Kassadin pre-rework, and I will gladly admit that he was completely and utterly broken. However he has long since been out of meta, only to be touched by brave souls and people who dominated with Kassadin pre-rework, and I believe he needs to make a comeback, but he needs a slight slight, very very slight buff in very specific areas.

Where Kassadin truly thrives is late game. His burst is unparalleled, he has extreme mobility, and despite being a mid-lane mage, he is actually quite durable. However, getting there can often be a nightmare considering the current mid-lane meta seems to be dominated by strong early and mid game characters. Kassadin simply doesn't have the early game umpf, and to be truly dominating late game you have to build stacking items such as Rod of Ages and Archangels Staff. Essentially a non-fed Kassadin is fairly weak for a very large portion of the game, and a lot of time when he finally catches traction, the game is nearly over. The battle to get Kassadin really rolling becomes far more difficult if you end up with a Zed or a Yasuo in your lane.

Despite the difficulties of snowballing with Kassadin in the early game, the fact is late game he becomes incredibly powerful, so the buffs really shouldn't affect anything late game.

** My suggestions for how to help with this is:**

  1. Increase the base damage of Kassadins Q at the early levels while it peaks at the same value once it hits rank 5
  2. Switch Kassadin's spell shield for a weaker, shield-shield. This will help him deal with early game AD lane bullies, and for those infuriating games when ADC's go mid.
  3. Increase the attack range for his W's active slightly, this will help slightly but not to a degree of making the ability considerably more powerful.
  4. Allow Kassadin to stack his ult 5 times with the final mana cost of 1000. The reduction in the costs of the lower stacks in the early game will be slightly helpful. It also makes it to where Kass's ult is slightly more potent, to increase the benefits of a risky all in.
  5. Slightly reduce the de-stack timer on Kassadin's ult. It feels somewhat extravagant. It doesn't really matter if it is shorter and you are trying to escape, it really just gives him slightly more mobility and makes it easier to stack Tear of the Goddess.

Kassadin will always be nothing more than a shadow of what he once was, but at least he can still be a champ people even bother to learn. Most people now think he isn't worth the trouble and it would be nice if he was because he is an incredibly fun and awesome champ, and I would hate to see him slip out of meta forever. If I am beating a dead horse or riot just doesn't wanna touch him please let me know.

I mostly agree. He is really really not in the meta. But he is entirely meant to be a defensive anti-mage like Veig is an offensive anti-mage and should probably not pick him blindly. His spell-shield is nice and fits his theme, but maybe putting a silence back on his Q is good. Just don't make it insanely strong again so maybe 1 second. Pretty much everything I agree with except the shield-shield

What's up with all the downvotes? I think this is a good idea.

I've actually seem two recently after not seeing him for months and months.

He was a little difficult to deal with simply because I forgot what his kit does XD
