Infernal dragons are too strong/overpowered, require too much team coordination
I'm not talking about diamond and up, I'm talking about the other 99% of league. Although I have seen on stream teams show top with infernal up... Dragon requires so much team coordination, everyone knows this is non existent in solo q, even in higher elo. If you have the enemy jungler at every dragon spawn soloing while your jungler is jerking off top because "kills" are important its just an auto loss. You might also have a mid laner with priority mid pushing the tower instead of rotating on dragon, or you might have a game where the enemy top lane has TP, but yours ran ghost or ignite. Before I get attacked because "laners need to rotate". Yes they do but as you know, you can't always. Even if mid and bot rotates on drake they're still outnumbered if the ally jungler is top, or if the mid laner is ganking top. All dragons are really important obviously, and they make pro play more i n t e r e s t i n g , but in solo q it's cancer. If you do the math, 3 infernals (+24% AD) is worth up 3k+ gold late game per player. Just think about that. BF sword gives 40 AD for 1300 gold... a full damage ADC with
with gathering storm and will gain 113 AD late game... that's almost 4000 gold post cap got the adc. Imagine if a team has a brand support, assassin jungle, mage or assassin mid, + fighter top. keep in mind some players will scale MUCH harder with infernal such as draven or jhin. I honestly think dragons are a great objective, however most players in lower elo, do not understand how important they are. I don't know how many times I've been like "dude u just gave up drag" just to get a "I got first tower" response. Now imagine if an ADC were to decide to sell boots late game for even more damage, which I will always do if I have triple infernal and don't need the movement speed... baron gives 1500 team gold per game. Infernals give much more and scale harder.
I also believe there should be a dragon for tenacity instead... but all together, I believe that the older drake, gave teams with not the greatest team coordination a chance to come back mid to late game. That first drag isn't as important because you don't have to rely on the RNG dragon spawn. Sometimes you hope the next dragon is infernal sometimes you hope it's not because the enemy team has priority. I honestly believe that there is no point of having an infernal dragon in the game. I prefer the ocean, mountain and as an adc main, I even prefer cloud. Those 3 are enough. I know how important infernal dragons are for pro play... maybe keep it there, however remove it from solo q?
TLDR,
dragons are too op, makes dragons too much of a big deal, sometimes they're more important than baron, they spawn too often and are way too easy to take, infernals are either hit or miss or high risk high reward. There are many ways this could be fixed, where dragons spawn later into the game, or less dragons spawn... or infernals just get removed etc, or we just get the old drakes back.
