I like the new mana changes mid lane

While playing mid lane here and there... I've noticed a lot of players spamming their abilities to cs, playing very safe, and avoiding trades. They get decent CS no having to auto attack a single one. I feel like the new changes will create a bigger gap which is good for the game. Better players who are able to CS properly and conserving mana for trades will be heavily rewarded. It will make it so that laners are forced to right click to cs and miss some here and there. I think this is a buff to the better mid laners out there, but a nerf to players that depend on their abilities to CS. Now which ever player spams abilities to CS will run out of mana, the better laner will have a higger xp and gold advantage and will be able to snowball much easier, get first tower etc. I think this is what riots trying to do. It will be fun to be able to all in a brainless mid laner because they've gone oom and don't know how to conserve their mana.

I've played Mid for years, I can AA minions just fine to CS, most my abilities go towards trades anyway. This isn't where Mid lane Mages hate the nerf, it's when the Mid-Late happens and they go oom from full mana in team fights, what are they spose to do, stand and watch, throw some AA's at Mao?

While Mages do depend on their abilities they are already gated by Cool Downs, while no other damage oriented class really is. ADCs can just AA, Divers/Bruisers can AA, Tanks will still absorb damage, Assassins can still AA. Mages? We just stand their and cheer our team on.

These changes prolly won't gut mages, but there needs to be more changes to other classes then as well, specially bot lane. Had those changes come first, we wouldn't be seeing as big of a uprising.

Edit: This also is a buff for bot lane (somewhat top) as well, cause mages won't be able to push and roam as easily anymore either.

Actually, the opposite will happen. Since Doran's Ring doesn't offer mana regen on minion kills now, the bad players will be rewarded with free mana regen even when they miss cs, while the good players who manage to cs well won't get reward with extra mana, as it happens right now.

I feel like the obvious problem here is lost chapter. 119% efficiency and thats not even counting the passive.

D ring is also a bit op, although i feel like increasing the gold cost by 50 would be appropriate

Tbh i feel like the mana changes just are to punish champions like Azir that doesnt build mana items, even though Azirs mana costs dont increase with level (which is the obvious problem)

Anyway, nothing new. Riot continues to deny the real problems

Problem is that some AP champs do so horrible damage with aaFiddlesticks or are so immobile Karthus that if they vs an assassin or mobile champ they can get harassed off their farm very easily or die. Their abilities become a necessity to farming. There are ways to conserve, but when vs a champ that has no mana and can stay in lane indefinitely, there is a huge mismatch. Some responses are "those champs have CDs so it is ok", but most AP mages have CDs and mana. Mana should stop endless spamming, but it also cannot be so punitive that AP champs are left with only their pitiful AA, especially in mid-game. Ido not see the issue into late game with the current itemization.

players that depend on their abilities to CS

Indeed! Its almost like mages dont rely AT ALL at their spells to farm! /s

In all seriousness now, mages should aa for cs ONLY at the 9-10 mins. After that they should just use their spells. The buff in their base mana and mana regeneration further reinforces that. Plus the fact that d-ring promotes passive farming ( farming with spells at early instead of aa)
