As far as I can tell, the clock is hard scripted to never show an estimated wait time of longer than 3:00 to find a match on ARAM, even if the average wait is 15 minutes or longer. I suppose this is because Riot feels embarrassed to admit the real wait time, if it's longer than 3 minutes. But it's wrong to lie.

Usually pops within first 30 seconds. Only with dodges does queue time get above 3min.

Already bad enough I have to play with wifi internet cause i recently moved, but these queue times when I'm trying to farm my event tokens too? LOL
Edit: There were no dodges or someone failing afk check, that was the legit first match it found me.

Samething happens in draft mode for me so it really doesn't matter.
But i do play blinds to get in games faster during events.

Moonscourge2 votesThat's because there should never be situations where queues take longer than 3 minutes unless at the very top or very bottom of a matchmaking system. It's not some stupid conspiracy that you're making it out to be. It's simply how such systems work. If you play at 3 in the morning you should know why it takes you forever to ifnd a game.

Every game mode has MMR, the higher it is the longer the queue time is cause of matchmaking trying to find players with similar MMR range.
I been waiting for blind-draft normal games for 10 minutes average since season 7 while any smurf I use find games instantly.

LatetotheRace1 votesI've seen weird estimations of 7:44, 5:00, even 12:43 etc. It's not uncommon, but perhaps in aram that's the case.
Hosigie1 votesIn my experience, the queue timers aren't at all accurate. On my server it usually says 3:00 minutes, but it can be 3 seconds and 20 minutes even, depending on when and what queue you're playing, and what rank you are. Sometimes for normal games they match you with bots too. It would be cool if they made it more accurate. Or maybe give us an estimate of how many other people are in the same queue as us.
FSRER1 votesYou know why it says 3 mins? Because Riot doesn't want to admit that many people (at ranked at least) have quit the game and that is what caused this match finding time.
TheHoodOfSwords1 votesThey could also just, remove the wait time. After playing a few games you get the sense of how long it’s going to take. I’ve gotten 0:01 queue times and 6:00+ queue times.

I dont know what happened a week ago but this has only just started happening for me since then and its been consistent since.
