Ok...WHY is Olaf bad?

I've played olaf a couple times the last couple days and sure, he's not great, but it's not like he sucks. Get a few kills/cs and by some damage and tank items and you can be very versatile for your team, getting drags pushing lanes defending what have you. He can dual well and sure, he's not the best teamfighter but he can do it. So why do people think he's not all that great? If anything I think his Ult just needs a bit more, but beyond that...I don't understand.

Q - It lost slow duration W - Gained atack speed but lost the flat AD bonus, which weakens his early game. E - Lost the higher flat damage in exchange for scaling, forcing you to build AD in order to beef it up. R - Flat Armor Pen removed. Given Armor+MR bonus that is lost when ulting in exchange for AD.

Falls off hard late game, gets kited to hell. Basically you need to hope your team doesn't throw their lead otherwise you're in for a very hard win later on. (Depending on the enemy's comp obviously)

He's a terror on Twisted Treeline if someone on the team could just get Righteous Glory.

In all theory, if your opponents have an entire team, composition full of crowd control disablers, I think he would be a stellar pick-up.

Vi / Pantheon / J4 / Amumu are examples of good champions that benefit off of getting first strike and second strike. This does not affect Olaf in his ultimate, as his opponents no longer get first strike and second strike.

I ask the same thing my self after watching the FNC vs H2K match. It is all so not the first Olaf I seen in the pro games as well.So he most be at lest good if they are playing him. They dont really play champs that are bad.

So, basically what I'm hearing is he's not great in Solo Q and not particularly useful in teamfights but in constructed he could be fine.

I think people are complaining that Olaf isn't piss easy to do well with anymore. He's still a monster duelist lategame, but he still is a melee bruiser with no mobility.
