The Next Retcon Targets

So we all know that next year another Retcon will be rolling out, so the question is which faction is in the line of sight. So far, I've seen three possibilities:

Bandle City Mt. Targon Ionia

In my opinion it's gonna be Ionia purely because they have more impact in the world scene and they have more to play around with in story. BUT Riot needs to pull this off next time. I find it funny that people used to say the Frejord retcon SUCKED and now after Shurima they're saying it was arguably good, which suggests to me riot, on a scale of 1(worst)-10(best), is currently working in the range of 2-4. In my opinion, after the Shurima Retcon (I didn't play much attention to the Frejord one), Riot has 3 points to work on.

  1. better involvement of gameplay. Have the gamemode relevant to the story ("Xerath holds the secret to absolute ascension, so Azir has set a reward for anyone to wrest it from him." for a crude example).
  2. Explain, don't butcher. Reworks are about improving, not removing
  3. More lore depth. Instead of saying 'Siver and Cassitopia entered the tomb AND SUDDENLY SHURIMA!!!!!' talk about how that actually affects events on Runterra. Like seriously, what does Noxus or Demacia think about this? How is Shurima a world player? What the heck is going oooonnnnnnnnn?

Who do you guys think is next on the block, and how do you think Riot can improve retcons?

Soooo glad people are finally agreeing with what ive been saying since her release. Lux IS a dark character, beneath her bubbly exterior is a broken teenage girl, she is a tragic story, she did not join the military willingly. Riot, no more military skins :(

At some point I will sit down with a very stiff drink and force myself to type out my predictions for what's next. Not yet.

Sorry but one of your points mentions having the game mode relevant to the story. Riot specifically said it wants the story and game play separated now. They want cool modes and cool new champs. They just don't want them to really mean anything.
