Mid-game clown fiestas

Recently in my games I've noticed that once a few towers go down and the 20 minute mark hits, my teams just sprint down midlane and play ARAM. This never ends well, because the team that has better pick potential/whichever team is more fed wins. I beg my teammates to help pressure other lanes but they refuse and then the game goes on like this for 10-15 minutes until one team gets aced and loses. For reference, I'm in low elo, S4. Does this stuff happen in higher elo?
