Say your damn role in Champ Select!

Multiple times today this has happened. I am in champ select, last pick, when the DIana with smite says they're not jungling, and I have already picked a midlaner. Or the Lux running Flash Exhaust says she is going mid after I asked her five times where she is going before assuming support, and force locked in Xerath because I ran out of time. Even that Xin Zhao running TeleFlash that waits until all picks are locked in to switch to smite and tell Rammus he has to go top.

Moral of the story... Call your damn role.

Originally I was gonna make this a plea to Riot to implement something where when you pick your champion you also have to pick your role, and everyone on your team can see it. But I doubt they'd ever implement something so useful. So just say where you are going, please.

Sometimes I take smite on Sion top lane, just for the cinderhulk (and more objective control).

I always scream "TOP WITH SMITE" over and over again until the system prevents me from sending any more messages.

There is no excuse for this. Not even Smite should excuse you from calling your role. There are all kinds of champs that can jungle, and for all we know, if you don't tell us, you could have just forgotten to change your summoner spells. There's always that last pick that instalocks hecarim when we already have Rammus and Sion on the team, and Rammus has smite and called it in chat. This is a PSA that a lot of people need to read.

ranked team builder is coming apparently. it would be queueing as your role tho, instead as a champion like the current team builder.

Better yet, if you're 4th or 5th pick, LOOK AT WHAT CHAMPIONS HAVE ALREADY BEEN SELECTED. If Support and Mid are already covered, do not pick Support or Mid. If first pick got Jungler, and I see you sitting there after autolocking in Xin with Smite, my opinion of you has already dropped a few precious notches.

Yeah, I wish everyone would just call their roles, too. I hate it when that Twitch that says nothing was actually jungle and then we have no adc and then he just afk's the whole game. I think this kinda thing is ridiculous and should've been avoided.

It's called Team Builder... though instead of retards who don't call role you just get hideous queue time waiting for a support.

And this is why I play teambuilder. For all its issues and the five hour wait-time for supports and junglers, it is far better than having some self-absorbed prick assuming he's more important than you as he switches to Jinx with 5 seconds left after you've had a marksman selected for the past 30 seconds.

If I want to take unusual summoner spells for my role, I always just go with the "meta" summs but change them once everyone has locked in.

Tele/Flash for top
Ignite/Flash for mid
Smite/Flash for jg
Exhaust/Flash for support
Heal/Flash for adc bot

I think you should say what your main role is. So we can determine what's best for the team. I'd gladly play another role if I thought somebody could do it better than me. I main jungle, and my win rate out of the jungle in my division is pretty high. So I prefer to play jungle when I get into the lobby. I think it's essential calling your position when you play champs like Nidalee, Zed, Quinn, Maokai, Malphite, and Yasuo (to name a few) who can play Mid/Top/Jungle. This is confusing because sometimes you get two people who choose without communicating and then you get two people who readied up for mid lane and one is forced top vs their counter.
