Absolutely not. Don't try to channel your ult when you are in the middle of combat (unless you are dead).

That's the difference between a good ult and a bad one. It's a counter play to kill him.
OP: I'm too lazy to find a sweet safe empty spot, so please lemme just ult through the whole teamfight & ult for free through death.
Alternative, you could just wait until you're dead.
