I come to a realization: I hate supports that do no damage.

Damage and the potential for damage is its own zoning tool and CC, I was a big fan of fervor Taric when he got reworked because it made him a strong damage threat that could 1v1 carries if they ignored him. Heal bots that can only run away aren't my idea of fun :P

I think the opposite, but alright.

Ya, and you do lose some agency to single handedly win a game without damage. I enjoy supports like Rakan and Taric, but totally get they aren’t for everyone.

Some you could try are

lel sure lets make even suppport whos take alot of free gold for doing nothing and also happen to have the cheapest items of all the classe with those items being overlaoded and super efficent and make them do damage , so at some point pepole will realize why play anything else when u can play support i really miss when support was the autofill role and not top lane

I dislike playing with no-damage supports on my team.

Yeah having that Brand is really cool until the Zed kills not only you but then jukes all of Brand's skillshots and autos you to death.

There's a time and place for every support.... not that Brand should be a support, but, you know

Nothing worse than a super passive support that sits behind you and occasionally shields.

Supports that can pressure the other ADC, complement my damage and generally fight along side me are what i'm looking for.

The funny thing is this has mostly to do with the player behind the keyboard and not the champ.
