ADC Champions and Conserving Mana

EDIT: Thanks for all of the advice, everyone!

Recently I bought Caitlyn , and I have been trying her out in a few AI games just to get a feel for the mechanics. However, I've noticed that ADC champions run out of mana quite quickly, especially because they don't build item 1056 , item 3070 , or item 3165. I'm a noob that doesn't really play that many ADC champions, and I was wondering if any experienced marksmen players have any tips to conserving mana on ADC champions. Thank you! item 3508 helps, and is an all-around decent item to boot.

Try this god actually if you're a mana eating ADC person. Urgot And no, I'm not joking...(For once) Yes, he doesn't EVER build AP items for common sense reasons, but he DOES need item 3004 and later it'll be item 3042 . I know people don't use the Urgod for various reasons, but I love him actually because I've learned so much with him. You have to watch how much Q spamming you do because he takes loads of mana early before you get your item 3070 . I have to judge smartly on how much mana I use with each ability I use. If I use my WEQQQ, it takes up a huge amount of my mana even if I start with item 2033 . Therefore I need to predict how much mana I'll have for later on and conserve it in case I want to engage and go for a kill. My ult takes 100 mana, but by then I should have my tear, but I still need to judge on how much mana I use with every attack so I have enough to burst or engage an enemy to pick up a kill, plus added with having to use my ult in case of a gank. Each Q early game is 40 mana, but it can stack up if you're reckless on spamming it endlessly like any ADC would. Don't be afraid to grab one of these too with Urgod item 3025 item 3110 . Mana and CD are crucial with Urgod along with Armor penetration, but don't forget to have AD xD. I usually have this as my build with Urgod item 3009 item 3042 item 3071 item 3036 item 3025 and 6th item is situational. Though my runes I start off with less Attack Damage due to I have 21% or so Lethality and some scaling CD along with regular CD. But, you just need to watch how much mana you use with every ability you use and conserve heavily.

Dont max Q on caitlyn, Max traps instead.

Her Q and E is a mana drainer and essentially you should only be using E to get away from a bad situation or for a guarenteed headshot.

Max q vs immobile adcs

Your skills only need to be used for trades/poking/harass/fast shoving a lane. If you overuse it, you'll oom. If you use it and fail at hitting anything or any champion (Like with Cait) then you're wasting mana. If you're not confident you'll land it, don't use it until you have to that way you'll have the mana for an engage by the enemy team.

adcs can build item 3070 you just have to realize that you are giving up early game power which adcs dont do because they like to get kills early. but most adcs wont ever force a kill they just want to take it when it gets low in that case giving up early power really doesnt matter.

You clearly haven't played Ezreal or Jinx then.

If anything, you just want to autoattack everything. The typical ADC builds AD, which makes attacking and last-hitting with AAs much easier than an AP midlaner. Don't spam your spells, and use them only occasionally when you know it will be effective.

Imagine playing ADCs like KogMaw that are required to use spells to proc items.

adcs arent supposed to farm with their spells just fight and poke but people farm with them end up with no mana then say they cant fight when they are basic attack based champions. Yes you are better with mana than with out it but if you know that managed your mana. Adcs dont even need their spells by mid game no body runs out of mana and nearly no one picks up item 3508 which is sad since they made it adc only from they brought it into the game and buffed its ad to compete with the other top ad items now its unused for the most part and only used on the occasional adc with low pick rates
