Looking around, I see they were Duo with the Soraka (who is S5), so it brought them down a bit that's why you ran into them.

Bro I wasn't worried, I feel like my Ahri is pretty solid, he won the CS matchup, of course, but I don't think he solo killed me in lane. I didn't feed, and did what I could. I didn't DC for like 2 mins early, which really hurt, and I accept the penalty for it, but still tried my best.
I thought since bronze couldn't queue up with Gold that meant they couldn't play together at all, makes sense now. All about the average MMR.
