Question about Nasus and Items efficiency and scaling. (And other items pertaining to sheen)

I have been wondering if Sheen items (Ranging from Iceborn Gauntlet and Trinity Force, not so much Lich Bane.) That it's, in my opinion abit ineffective. Now before you go calling me a noob and that I need to follow recommend and stuff like that (Blah-blah-blah) hear me out.

We all know Trinity force is like, a juggernaut item on Nasus, and it's great and super great (In some people opinion) But is it really good on him? Because lately, Nasus isn't as terrifying as he used to be. I mean he was ban in every game, and if someone picked Nasus, it was GG for the other team. And the dog had to put the cane away. BUT why is that? I thought it was because he's not able to do much with a trinity force other than Q as much as he can without much other Utility.

So I wondered what Item could I use to replace it? First item that came to my mind was Blade of Ruin King. Synergizes with not only his Q but his W since you can land whither, then Bork them for the bonus movement speed and go to town dealing 8% of their life a HIT, and you get the nifty attack speed and AD, and Lifesteal. And I was shocked to see how fast I could mow threw people, since I also built a Black Cleaver for the CDR, Armor Pen, AD and Armor Shred during his auto attacks, making his Q show out more. Killing them in 3-4 Hits.

My build was Normal Nasus:

Blade of Ruin King Trinity Force Black Cleaver Sunfire Cape Sunfire Cape Randuins Omen Frozen Heart Spirit Visage Spirit Visage Iron Locket Solari Merc Treads *With Furor Merc Treads *Home Guards

With this, I had 40% CDR a Bonus
+1050 Bonus HP +400 Mana +145 Bonus Armor + 85 Magic Resist +75 Attack Damage +40% Attack Speed +Auto-Attacks (Including Q since it's still a Auto-Attack) deal a bonus 8% Damage to the targets HP +10 Armor Pen. (And +5% Armor Shred (up 25%) Per auto) +10% Lifesteal +25 Magic Damage a Sec (+1 per sec, per Lv.)

  • -15% Attacks Speed for All champions in the Aura
  • Bonus 20% Lifesteal (So +30% Lifesteal on Nasus = 36% Lifesteal)
  • 10% Damage Active Damage (And Healing) + Steal Movement Speed +Tenacity +12% Movement Speed and I hit something with a Spell or Attack

WIth the Normal Nasus Build, I Had 20% CDR +30 ability power +30 attack damage +30% attack speed +10% critical strike chance +2000 Health +200 mana +115 Armor +120 Magic Resist

  • Basic attacks grant 20 movement speed for 2 seconds on hit. Minion, monster, and champion kills grant 60 movement speed for 2 seconds. The movement speed bonus is halved for ranged champions.
  • After using an ability, your next basic attack deals 200% base AD bonus physical damage. (1.5 second cooldown). +25 Magic Damage a Sec (+1 per sec, Per Lv.)
  • When hit by basic attacks, reduces the attacker's attack speed by 15%.
  • Slows the movement speed of nearby enemy units by 35% for 2 (+ 0.5% armor) (+ 0.5% magic resistance) seconds. 60 second cooldown (500 Range).
  • 20% Lifesteal Bonus (So 24% Lifesteal.) +Tenacity and Homeguard Fountain Movement speed bonus +Aura From Iron Locket and Shield

This is not including stats, masters and runes.

So yes you get 900 more health. But as far Utility and overall Damage being dealt, Bork Nasus I would think would be dealing more damage and survival since that bonus +12 Lifesteal is quite high when he is dealing more damage with his Q.

But I am just wondering, and thinking.

The Sheen Items are more for helping early/mid game stacking than it is for the raw combat stats. Trinity force is good for stacking all game, which is nice, and it helps you stick to enemies with the extra movement speed from zeal and the extra movement speed on hit from phage, and allows you to auto attack more. Gauntlet helps with pushing and also sticking to people, and is more tanky.

A lot of people will say you reach a point where you have enough stacks that you dont need to stack anymore, but it really helps in those between team fight situation where there is huge build up of minions and you can get 100+ stacks in one go. If you had gauntlet or sunfire cape you might only get another 30-40 stacks. The 300-400 increased damage from those 100 stacks can turn a barely escaped enemy into a dead one.

As for BOTRK helping him survive? 12% life steal isn't really that much when you could have had another armor or health item. You need to auto attack and Q to have the added survivabilty of BOTRK whereas with a spirit visage or frozen heart or even warmogs, you have that no matter what. You cant life steal if you're stunned, or kited when wither and BOTRK active is on cool down, or when you face check a bush and run into 2 or 3 people.

But in the end it's all team comp. If you have a Natilus jungle and Leona support, well 3 tanks is less damage so a Nasus with say, Trinity Force, Black Cleaver, BOTRK, Boots, Omen and Visage could be scary. But then you could have an Annie support and a full damage Lee Sin jungle where all the armor and health and MR in the game is needed.

BOTRK, Trinity, and Black Cleaver could be useful in one game, but a horrible idea in the next. It's all team comps. Like you wouldn't want locket and visage if you're against all AD and Frozen Heart would be useless if there is Corki ADC and Lissandra Top.

Be flexible. Think up a game plan while loading, and then Adjust while the game goes on.

Trinity usually gives you MS on hit which is pretty helpful, but I almost always went with Iceborne over it just because I liked the slow and the increased pushing power late game when you had so many stacks it didn't even matter anymore.
