Notification When action is taken against a report player.

RebornDominator·3/14/2015, 4:47:34 AM·90 votes·4,201 views

Reported* While playing another game, cough Dota 2 cough , i reported someone for communication abuse (not false) and a few minutes after the game i was notified action was taken against the player and i feel like i actually did something in making the community a better place. Please add this to LoL so we know we are helping rid the community of these type of people.

P.S. I sound stupid, dont I

EDIT: please refrain from downvoted due to me mentioning Dota 2 EDIT 2: How Dota 2 has it that you have only a certain amount of reports until refreshed, If the reported player had action taken against them, you would receive the report token back, along with the notification

EDIT EDIT EDIT: Would it go against privacy if it didnt specify the punishment or the player?

I actually do like this idea. It is kind of a mystery wondering if that toxic ADC of yours who called you a (excuse the language) "fucking bitch" "worthless whore" "stupid fucking dumbass who doesn't even ward" was punished for their actions. It would be nice if a message like the following was displayed in your notifications when you logged in:

Greetings summoner! We would like to notify you that your report against bestadc3857 for Verbal Abuse has been accepted, and that action has been taken against this person. Thank you for making League of Legends a better and safer place for all!

-Tribunal

I have weird feeling that Riot tries to protect all kinds of "bad players". They've removed tribunal They've disabled option to see who dodged

It's like protecting spoiled brats..

Then people would just complain on the forums when they don't get told if the person was dealt with.

Just report and move on, you won't ever see the player again, it doesn't matter what happens to them.

Holy shit, this makes me actually want to play DOTA 2! XD Only problem that if this was implemented into LoL, would be the report token system, because there are just way too many people that need to be reported. Like, how many tokens do you get? The number of those needing to be reported probably exceeds that of how many tokens you have. Plus, you don't really know if any action would be taken considering how faulty and broken Riot's logic is when it comes to matters like this.

Raptamei3/14/2015, 3:54:55 PM4 votes

The problem is that most people would actually not get punished.

With how toxicity is being handled these days im sure riot would only toss in an automated message as soon as you report and wash their hands of it lol. Most people are too afraid to speak in in summoners rift anymore cause any negative comment (be it constructive criticism or just a small disagreement) earns you that automated "you were reported" message from some butthurt child.

When i asked for this on the eu forums, i got downvoted to oblivion .

Glad to know that people in here think a bit more rational than those back there .

"Action has been taken against a player you reported, thank you for helping the game" or some shit. No name or specifics but would let me know Riot is actually paying attention to reports. It would also let me know when someone might be bothering ME but they're found to be operating within the rules, so I'd know to not report as much.

Sad thing is, riot will not disclose any information about action taken place. when the Tribunal was up, you knew if a player was warned, ban, perma ban, but not to the extent of Riot knows. Perma ban is explanatory of itself. Perma Ban. but the ban/Warning can vary.

A lot of people have single toxic games with plenty of fine ones. It's possible that you encountered one of these cases. You really can't tell whether someone truly deserves to be banned or not based on one game. Everyone has bad days here they get a little more ragey than they should.

Of course, there's a limit. There are some things you shouldn't say no matter how bad your day was.

Dawngate did this and also had a "Karma" system wherein you could be given a karma upvote at the end of the game similar to getting honored, and it would increase your destiny (IP) reward for the game you played. Meaning the game REWARDED you for being a good person rather than just giving you a dinky little tag on your icon.

It fostered a good community. Its a good idea imo.

Implement reports token right now! I would pay for this to be implemented! Right now this game is just a report fest, people are just reporting everyone left and right for no reasons. If you put a limit on how much reports they can do per day/weeks I think this game will be a better place.

Uhm...I hate to shoot down a great idea, but they can't actually disclose that information because of privacy reasons. I had a rioteer review a game I played a while ago for toxicity (thanks again ScornedNymph), and he/she told me this:

"We will investigate your report and take any actions we feel are necessary. Please keep in mind; we cannot disclose any disciplinary actions that may be taken due to privacy reasons."

Although, it'd be pretty cool if the reporting system was a little bit better.

"Greetings Summoner,

I wanted to let you know that a player you reported, guyWhoHurtYourFeelings, has recently been reviewed for Verbal Abuse.

Your comment "fkn ashoel tol me that building ap on riven was retarded. fuk him idot need ban for toxic" was very helpful to us and we appreciate your role in improving the League of Legends community.

See you on the rift, Riot responseBot"

That would be one of the only things that could make me hate playing this game a lot less
