from now on whenever it ninja crashes i'm not going to attempt rejoining. i'll lose my LP along with 4 other people.

Hmmm. So over 5 years of league, thousands of games on three accounts over two servers. I have never experienced this phenomenon. Granted I'm not on Nordic but never experienced it on na or euw.
