What is happening with all the Bard's shrines threads latetly ?

Hey guys,

Currently, as you probably have noticed, they are alot of people on the boards claming that Bard shrines are underwhelming (Saying that directly after a buff of them is wierd, but it's GD). So, as a big Bard player by myself, I ask myself how much those guys actually played Bard to make that statement. No offense here, but sometimes I really ask myself that question.

So instead of posting an anwser to every post that the OP didnt agree with me that will be downvoted and stay at 0 forever cause no-one will see it again because thats how the boards work, I prefer to create a thread to show why Bard doesnt need any changes on his shrine and stop the madness here:

So, what most people are complaning about is how uneffective they are late game, and then it takes over on how low the heal is, and then how high the mana cost is etc. etc. But mostly on the late game part.

Lets post the stats of the shrine:

  • 12 seconds cooldown with a 90 mana cost
  • 30/60/90/120/150 (+20% AP) healing minimum up to 70/110/150/190/230 (+45%AP) over 10 seconds
  • Give a decaying 1,5 sec 50% MS boost
  • Range is fairly good, about 1000 units.

If you check on wikia, the min healing is similar to Sona's W without the % bonus healing and the shield and max healing is way stronger then for example Namis heal. Kinda logical, since you have to wait 10 seconds. In lane those 10 seconds arent that long, since the shrines are mostly under tower. You can also stack them, and you can replenish your mana with the chimes. I think most people agree on that, the shrines are extremly powerful in lane. Also, mana cost is high, but as high as the other healers.

Late game, it is true that the minimum healing is weaker, not much weaker then Nami's or Sona, they are actually pretty similar in power late game (Sona's can heal 2 persons, but it's a bit random).

Then you will tell me "Yeah, but Sona has a shield, and Nami deals some damage as well as giving that little MS boost".

I'm with you, I agree. So, please, have the same logic with Bard. Deal with the fact that Bards maximum healing is only counted early game, and that late game, the MS boost part has a higher value, like Sona's shield is alot more important in tf's and that Nami's W's healing power is diminuishing over time.

The enourmous range on his shrine makes it a Kayle W, with similar effects. Weaker, but with a better early game and lower CD. Late game, you save your allies by placing those "heals" under their feet so they run fast, as well as giving them a minor part of their health back. Do not try that 10 seconds rule late game, that's stupid, and the max heal is weak late game anyway too. The MS boost is very powerful. I repeat it. It's Bards late game chasing and saving tool along with the rest of his kit, which is as strong as the W. Bard is really good. He's bad in SoloQ, cause your adc can really mess up the 1 vs 2, but with a good adc, or if you just reach late game, Bard becomes a utility monster.

Now, if we can please stop opening 300 threads for an unexistent problem, that would be great, ofc, if you don't agree, feel free to comment here, I'm open to anything well writen and, espacially, well thought. Also, sorry for my English, I'm not native speaker, so if I did a grammar or spelling mistake in that long post, please forgive me, I'm human.

Yes, this may sound like a rant, but I hate when people can't see farther then their nose, that REALLY grinds my gears.

Anyway, have a good day.

Borbland
