Ranked Placement Thread

I've been surfing around the internet about people's testimonies to their ranked placements with their win/score lose and claimed rank/mmr before the preseason ended, and for the majority, golds are being placed in silver, silver is being placed in bronze, bronze is still bronze, plat to high silver/gold, diamonds and masters to gold/plat with decent win/loses like 7 wins or higher. So you get the point, basically was their supposed to be a deflation in ranks during the placements in the new calculations?? Can a riot employee who has knowledge of this stuff kinda give an explanation to how ranked placements are being based off of? I am kinda ignorant on this topic, so I'm not going to give my opinion just yet, and feel free to post your opinions below.

No idea... I think mine were pretty fair... I was Gold 4, went 5-5 in placement and got Silver 4. When I first started playing my first season I had to crawl out of Bronze 5 so I'm not too worried.

5-5 silver 4 is like the placement u'd get if u have never played ranked before and have decent mmr in normals from my experience
