A Legitimate Question For Riot (Not a troll post, I promise)

Dear Riot,

As I'm sure anyone on the boards has noticed, people are not happy with the Veigar nerfs.

On many, many, threads I've seen comment after comment about how Veigar's stun was interfering with the big LCS plays, and that's why it was gutted.

At first I dismissed those posts as just senseless qq, but they're starting to make more and more sense. There would be no flashy Katarina Pentakills if the random Veigar support's stun stopped her every time. As we all know, watching flashy Katarina Pentakills is fun, which makes us more likely to spend money on LCS related stuff.

If this post reaches Riot, I want to know, was the Veigar stun nerf introduced simply to increase profits? I'm beginning to lose faith in the company I love, and I think I speak for the community as a whole (although I hope this comes across with less salty undertones) when I say, we need a straight answer.

Thank you,

Pegasusbishop

EDIT: Welp, just looked at the pbe. I don't think that will fix him, but at least its a step in the right direction. Thank you riot. :D

That is ridiculous.

  1. Because Veigar was never used in LCS because he was too weak to begin with because Riot probably wouldn't buff him to viability because he wasn't healthy. Now that he is more healthy he has a chance to. They just have to fix him up.

  2. Katarina was also is never used in the LCS.

Riot really, really does not make a significant amount of money on LCS. At least not directly; at best it's expensive advertising. "Riot only makes balance changes because of #LC$BIGPLAY$!" isn't just paranoid, it's nonsensical.

If they wanted to "sell out" to a big part of the playerbase they'd make balance decisions entirely for low-skill Normal queues. Only a fraction of players even play Ranked.
