Shaco gameplay

Why everytime i had lifesteal on Shaco and attack champions I cant heal back up. I mean i see a Master Yi build the same as me and he heal right back up. The only time i heal is when i attack minions but master yi heal when he attack both minnions and champs. Can you guys tell me why
