Mortal Reminder vs Dominik (last whispers)

I always go Dominik (or whatever it's called) but what are the rare times when Reminder is a better option? All I know of is against a Mundo or you're an adc against a Soraka support. Is Mortal Reminder good in solo laning phase? (Keep procing the passive to lower hp regeneration of enemy and the weakened heal stacks over time) is it worth always going Dominik even though you're laning against a squishie?

By the time you have that item laning phase is well and truly over. But basically it's good for the reasons you stated in our OP.

You basically get Executioner's Calling if someone (anyone) on the enemy team has a large amount of in-combat sustain or self-healing (i.e. lifesteal, Vladimir, Swain, Mundo, Akali, Warwick, Hecarim, etc).

You upgrade it to Mortal Reminder if they also have tanks (and you need help killing them).

If they have tanks and no significant self-healing, you get Lord Dominick's Regard.

you're an adc against a Soraka support.

Not sure if you know this, but Grievous Wounds only affects self-healing now.

It won't reduce the amount of health Soraka's W gives to allies.

actually it does absolutely nothing against a soraka. Grievous wounds only applies to self healing like lifesteal and regen.

Vlad, Mundo are the main ones but jax/trundle/irelia/ww if they have botrk. It is almost worth getting against irelia anyways just because of her natural lifesteal
