Dynamic Queue is busted.
I'm going to be the first to admit I wasn't too worried about the idea of Dynamic Queue, I was happy that roles would be /almost/ a guarantee, I was happy that you could potentially queue up with more than one buddy - despite being a solo player by nature, sometimes playing ranked with friends can help - and these ideas didn't really seem all that terrible until actually playing it for a length of time.
This is mostly due to the admittedly high levels of Salt I've gotten from the past month, but Dynamic Queue also is continuing the longstanding tradition in ranked where you look up the game online to see the ranks of everybody, and you realize that half of your team is Silver or below when your MMR was mid-high gold beforehand. I had this going on at the beginning of the month, where I failed my Gold promos, this wouldn't be so much of an issue if the way BACK there wasn't filled with what I would imagine were the results of the stars aligning to screw me over in particular.
Now of course, I am not the only one making this complaint, I've heard it a lot. But it has especially become obvious to me that Dynamic Queue matchmaking is almost completely garbage. Getting matched against 4 or occasionally 5 mans when you have a team of ALL randoms? That's pretty good, what's next, oh yeah, those 4 mans are mid-high gold, oh good a challenge to see if I'm ACTUALLY worthy of where I am in the rankings. Too bad though, because your team is Silver V (this happened today, even) and even a BRONZE I queued up with the Silver V! Legendary.
In a lot of these games, the issues certainly seem to stem from the fact that the MMR not being equalized doesn't actually present the lower ranks with the idea that they simply shouldn't duo with somebody who is clearly beyond them. I've had many games this month where the premades on my team all systematically lose and stop trying because they can't be bothered to try to WIN in ranked, the mode where you play to WIN and stop at nothing. It's ridiculous, and I am powerless to stop a collective team effort of giving up, I am only ONE person after all. On the enemy team though they're always displaying a level of competence beyond that of the people on my team, sometimes even myself - that's fine, I can learn through that - but it's completely unfair when you aren't the source of the issues yourself.
I've felt increasingly less interested in trying to climb because nothing I actually do makes a difference due to Dynamic Queue's horrendous matchmaking, the fact that Queued up players are incredibly likely to all band together against you and victimize you, even IF you're not the issue. On top of the likelihood that the queued players on the enemy team are also capable of losing the game and basically granting you a free win, I almost feel as if I'm just playing a lottery game mode where the dice is rolled to see who has the most likely team to tilt or the most disorganized team.
Why is Solo Queue still not a thing? It never should've been removed, Dynamic Queue is a somewhat GOOD idea plagued with many issues, and I've only addressed the things that really make me salty about it, I'm certainly not addressing the good things about it because they seem overshadowed in comparison to some of the things that bring the system down.
This was a largely unconnected rant and I'm sorry if nobody else seems to understand what the issues with the system are, but Ranked is becoming increasingly more and more unenjoyable as the days go by.
