The issue is that Riot wants flashy, special, highskilled champs to show nowadays, with different gimmicks and such, so that they feel different.
But many times they are unable to balance them because they put so much on their kit that, what is supposed to be it's counterplay, is not based on the champion itself but whoever is playing it.
When
had his 2 dashes for example, avoiding the weakpoint was supposed to be his weakness, but he could dash twice to hit you with it, so a good Aatrox player would actually have no weakness.
P much, Riot has an issue of making OP champs and, after people master them, they notice they fucked up, and stat changes ain't enough.
